Just bagged a pair of Superblasts as Sportsshoes had a 25% Easter sale on.
Still not cheap, but £150 ish is far more reasonable. Ordered Thursday and arrived good Friday!
Just done nearly 12 miles in them and really impressed, calves are hammered at the moment and they were fine on the run and after.
Felt great at our 10ish min/mile steady pace and ran around 8:30's for the last few miles and they're even better.
Looking forward to getting a serious long run in them

I did exactly the same and took a punt on these at that price. Would’ve usually ordered via ASICS to take advantage of the 90 day trial but all were out of stock. I went true to size and wore a pair of socks I’d not worn before and my god did my feet blister up… however… switched socks to Ingingi toe socks and this now my BEST shoe in my rotation. I am blown away by it, as Fordy says, it’s a sweet ride, even across elevation it laps up the k’s. Exec summary then, it took a while to break in but will certainly grab another pair when I see another 25% discount.

Managed to pick mine up for about £165 on discount here in Australia, first run was a long run workout with a couple of 5km blocks at marathon pace, the shoe is great just disappears on the foot and leaves the legs feeling great, the snappiness from the foam is surprising too, if I didn’t know better I would’ve thought there was some kind of plate in the shoe

    Totally agree.
I spend lately most of my runnings in these 2 fantastic shoes. Superblast and Prime X Strung.
For training I'm starting to think I don't need any other shoe.
Maybe not even for my PBs on slightly longer distances.

@@maikelmetzker No, I purchased them on discount at 209 €. On the other hand, do you really think that any shoe is worth 250 € (all racing shoes) or Alphafly 2 is worth 300 €?

    • @pensiveape6184
      @pensiveape6184 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@maikelmetzker But it's excellent shoe, at least for me. Maybe it's worth waiting to get them with some better discount. For me certainly it's far better shoe than the trainers like Novablast, Nike Invincible, Saucony Tempus etc. You can pick up a peace with ease like with any other super-shoe, but on the other hand, when my legs are beaten up I still can move with not too much effort, due to rocker and fantastic foam.
Again, is it worth so much money? No. Is it great shoe for me? Yes.
On the other hand, don't spend so much money just because I did. You can enjoy your runnings in any shoe you already have. Plus it's not great time to waste money on something we don't necessarily need.

I went half a size down (like Novablast 3) but here I need to use thin socks because they are not as wild as the Novablast 3. They are a million times better than the Novablast 3. More stable, more bounce.. No foot slapping.. I use the Novablast 3 now just for recovery runs because the foot slaps makes my foot swell after about 10k.

@@paddywiggle I really don't think that the forefoot slapping is good for the foot. I don't have any pains but I feel that I need to loosen and loosen the laces alot after about 10k... No pains after the run or during but the foot stays a bit swollen for a while after the run.. I also had the slapping in the Vomero 16 but I had the air pod in one foot go flat after a few runs so don't know if it would make the forefoot swell as well.

Most of my shoes are 2E and I find the Superblast to have poor lockdown despite using the runner knots. Have experimented it with different socks but no sign of improvement. I reckon the issue lies in its upper eyelet or the tongues were sliding all over the place due to its thin laces. I'm surprised non of the reviewers have highlighted this...
Straight out of the box, its midsole felt stiff. The FFBlast+ helps mellow its rigidity. I imagine it needs a break-in period?
