When I do my pedicures I use listerine, vinegar, and water. I soak my feet in it about 15 minutes the dead skin falls off easily and it makes your feet extremely soft! Great video!

I put Vaseline on my feet everyday immediately after getting out of the shower. It helps keeps my feel smooth and soft and a pedicure is always a breeze.

Awesome. When trimming toenails, I first remove the nail polish first before the trimming process. My mom trims toenails after the nail polish is removed, and it’s really painful and devastating. ☹️ She’s really Asian, and most Asians do a terrible job on when toenails are ready to be trimmed.
Tay -Tay Razors try doing it at night instead with a fuzzy sock. Helps keep the feet soft.

Pro tip: you could use a really slim makeup brush, maybe like an angled concealer brush, dip it in acetone and clean off the excess nail polish. It helps you get into those tiny nail edges easier

Ugh this was such a necessary watch!! My nail salon has gone up in prices since reopening during this pandemic and I absolutely despise going in their with bare nails because it’s soooo expensive to start from scratch!! You just set my self-care Saturday up for greatness!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I saw a podiatrist video where the doctor had to treat a woman’s soles which had been destroyed by an unsanitized foot file from a salon. She had a fungal and a bacterial infection and her heel skin was coming off in huge chunks. It took months for her skin to heal and I swore right there and then I would learn how to do my own

I have had this video saved for some time in a playlist on TH-cam, and I always re-watch it every now and then.
I do my partner’s nails every week or fortnight, and what she classes as a chore is fast-becoming something of a hobby to me.
I had vouchers for my before, and my children wanted me to get a toolbox; I, instead, got a box to keep all of my nail stuff in. I also invested in an e-file, which really helps get the nails looking immaculate.
I will search your more recent videos in the hope that you have an e-file tutorial or guide for pedis.

I’m using a MelodySusie efile, which seems to be a middle-of-the-range item. Love how it cleans the nails up so beautifully before painting - especially on the toes.
I have no idea what each of the different files are for, but we’re making do. Any guidance / future videos would be highly welcome…

I will share this with my wife. She went to a friend’s house yesterday and was required to take her flats off, which left her in bare feet and she said her pedicure wasn’t up to par. This will help since she’s about to transition to wearing flip-flops full time.

Great video! Thank you! I'm horrible with pedicures. I just "slap on" some polish as best I can. It goes all over my toes. Then I just soak my feet in water for a few minutes and scrape the polish off with my fingernail. Works like a charm, and I can be as messy as I want.
I’m so happy I finally know how to do a pedicure too omg I hate having to deal with rude people at the salons I can do my own🥰 currently pregnant 6 months and if I have a girl I’ll know how to do her nails too🙈❤️

As a student of cosmetology what I been taught is that the feet should be soaked to loosen all the dirty and make everything soft and it's is easier and use cuticle cream and oil but to each his or her own.
She did all of that in the shower is what she said. I love to do the long soak on mine as wells.
How often? One a month or once a week?

This was super helpful. I've been going to the nail salon to get gel pedicures and manicures for years. Due to the pandemic, I'm going to have to do my my own nails at home. This was a helpful guideline to make sure it comes out super cute! 🙂💅🏾
And gel pedicures are so expensive lol I hate spending 30 extra dollars on that crap !
Bit of advice for everyone (but u might already know this): its also good sometimes to just let your nails air out so they r not stripped of their natural coat

I'm a guy that enjoys pedicures and tend to get my feet done every 6 weeks. Pedicures in my area are around $35-$45. I'm looking at ways to budget and cutting back on my expenses. I looked at this video for an at home pedicure to save money. I bought all of the materials (minus the coloring 😂) and will be doing my own pedicures from here on out.

I do the same steps you do except I make more of a mess in my skin so I use acetone with a tiny brush and clean up around the nail works great for me and I have a mess on the floor too with all kinds of mani tools lol so much fun I love ❤️ my own manicures too

two of my sisters had their feet operated on and my niece. its just me and my baby sister that hasn't had this done. so I just do what I can. I have tons of nail polish. but I just go without it. and just do what's easier for me. ❤Thanks for your presentation. 😊

Every night when I shower, I use a pumice stone lightly. When I get out of the shower, I put moisturiser on my feet and then wear clean socks, taking them off right before I go to bed. It keeps them sooo soft!

Just a tip from someone who works in orthopedics. Don't cut your nails too short. As they grow back they are at greater risk of becoming ingrown. Never go to a salon to fix an ingrown either. Go to a podiatrist who knows what they are doing.

This looks similar to what I do too, except I do all the cleaning, cuticle trimming, etc. in the shower & use tooth picks instead of orange sticks. Then I paint when I get out & lotion.

You are so awesome it is great to see someone whom is real doing it.
Something that I always do is shower AFTER doing your nails. The water somehow loosens your skin and the nailpolish that sits on it (not on your nails) will eventually go away. Leaves you with a perfect pedi without having to clean up everything for a while! ;)
Its better to do it yourself its safe its expensive when your go to salon.
Pedis do get pricey at the salon & good point - unless you're familiar with your salons sanitization habits, you could be dealing with some dirty, pre-used tools.
I usually get my pedicures done myself at home, which isn’t that pricey at all. The first step I apply is lotion that contains coconut oil and vitamin E, then I apply nail strengthener as the base coat and colored nail polish, and finally I apply the top coat from Sally Hansen. My toenails usually grow out every couple of months, but I trim them on a tri-monthly basis.

I love your video! There's one small thing I feel I should point out. As a medical student I've learnt that the cuticles play a very important role as a seal at the base of your nails (fingers and toes). They prevent dirt, water and bacteria from getting in there and causing infection. I highly recommend not pushing back or specifically clipping your cuticles because it will do a lot more harm than good. By the by I do love your video and thanks for all the tips!
Cutting the cuticle is not advised, but so many do it and don't get infection... It's a roll of the 'not likely' dice, but a small risk just the same.
My grandmother did her own mani/pedi. She rubbed Olay lotion on her feet a couple times a week, washed her hands, then put more Olay lotion on her hands as she hopped into bed to read stories to me (I stayed over often). She used a stick to push her cuticles **gently, and just a little** after a few minutes of softening. She had those nails that looked PERFECT all the time --- when she was working at the bait shop, out fishing in tournaments, cleaning fish (ewwww), cooking, or gardening.

Never file toenails in a round shape, as it will cause ingrown toenails! I’m a Dermatologist and ingrown toenails are quite painful.

I just go to the nail salon and let them do it, although I use that foot cream called "Healthy Feet" every day before I put my socks or flip flops on, and I always add a few drops of cuticle oil to make my polish look shiny. I used to be able to do my own pedi at home, but I can't see anymore to paint my toes good. The one pet peeve I have at the nail salon is, they never seal the tip of my polish by painting the edge of the nail. I always have to ask them to paint the edge of my toenail, so it will seal the polish and it won't chip as easily. Usually they don't understand what I'm saying and start talking sh*t about me in Vietnamese. Oh well. If you don't ask, you don't receive.

Hey Amanda, I'm getting ready for summer. (Can never start to early) I just came to see some folks here in Texas. I live in hawaii....I was hanging out with my sister last night...(we were talking flip-flops and sandals) She was like you never had a pedicure...I was like "No" I take care of that on my own. So now...I looked up pedicure....and u popped up on the front of the list. I do pretty much the same as you....., but I did not realize what the cuticle cutter was for? I thought it was a toe nail clipper....Now I know.....Good job.

Hello, I put Vaseline every couple of days on my feet when I get out of the shower. First, I apply Bath and Body Works lotion/hand cream before applying nail strengthener as the base coat, colored Xtreme Wear nail polish, and a strengthening top coat from Sally Hansen on my toenails. I clip them after I remove the nail polish. Getting a pedicure is always a breeze because it’s relaxing. May I ask Amanda, do you do manicure videos by any chance?
Vaseline seems to be a go-to move for a lot of people - will have to try! And yes plenty of mani videos on my channel :)
Ok, I was looking to learn how to do this for my wife and I am surprised to see this is very close to the same thing you do for show quality body work on cars -coconut oil. Thank you this should be quite easy to do all be it a bit time consuming. I’m going to get the stuff now.

I learned a long time ago that you dont have to worry about paint on your skin. Just take a shower or bath after they dry. After your skin softens the pant can be picked off then
Yes!! haha I'm never too worried about having perfect toe polish. They have a way of cleaning themselves up! Plus, our feet are so far away from our eyes that it's hard to notice any imperfections. ;)

I can't seem to shape or cut my nails on feet the way they look when getting a pedicure. Any tips
I’ve been practicing and getting better with trimming them. I would say do not cut too much off the big toe too fast. Take your time and make sure the trim is even.
I would say file don't cut. You have more control that way

It is best to use a base coat to insure that YOU dont damage the natural color of the nail . thats why sometimes people have yellow looking nails when not polished...This way NO stains... NAIL TECH HERE!
