Mother Nature can really be hard on farmers. So very sorry but hopefully most of your plants can recover. Keep your spirits up and keep us posted.

Pick all the green tomatoes before rotten. Raw chopped, mixed with jalapeños, pepper, garlic and gives hot oil. Boiled the jar and sealed. Yummy for steak,.fish and tacos sauce

So SORRY my FRIENDS, give the plants a few days in the sun and get back to us with an update PLEASE, I know I will be waiting. As for those zinnias, we had a BAD windstorm here a few years ago and I just removed what was broken on the plants and those guys sent out so many new shoots I was amazed, They looked funky for a while and then the blooms I was amazed. I have my fingers crossed on that corn, that worries me a lot, the rest I hope they will send out new shoots but I don't know if the veggies will ripen in time. Let us know about the pumpkins,

Hi Logan, wow, that WAS a storm. And the amount of rain too in such a short period of time. Thinking your newly planted strawberries will be fine. Leaves ripped up but crowns look ok. The poor Zinnias though took a beating. :( It will be OK. Couple months left of growing season. I hope everything recovers fine. 🙏🤞👍

A tornado touched down just north of Interstate 80 along Nescopeck
Creek. A narrow alley of numerous downed or snapped trees occurred,
roughly following Overlook Road and then West Hollow Road, where
a convergent and at times oppositional tree pattern was observed.
The tornado departed West Hollow Road only to reemerge crossing
Route 93, where a few hundred small apple trees were pushed over in
an orchard, and a front porch roof was lifted up and over a house,
while peeling back a portion of the primary roof of the residence.
A large tree top was also lofted, and thrown to Zenith Road, to the
left of the tornado path. The tornado intensified while moving along
Hobbie Road, with numerous large trunk snaps, including several trees
damaging a residence with a destroyed shed. The yard had several
missiles in the form of small branches impaling into the ground.
The tornado finally lifted shortly after, before reaching the
intersection of Hobbie Road and Wapwallopen Road.

Hey Logan those are the type of storm we get here in Texas wow! That tree on the trailer is huge. The plants don't look too bad and I'm sure people will buy at a small discount. The young corn should pop back up. We are burning up and yawl are getting flooded, crazy. No rain here for 82 days and we are breaking record temps. We will be praying for your family.

Logan. For a moment I had a horrid feeling you was going to show all your crops were destroyed by being washed out of the ground. In an episode of The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson was left in charge to water somebody's crops the way you all grow yours. Anyway, Jeremy did something to a large water hose. He thought he upgraded it to have a longer water jet. The fool did more than that. He made the water pressure so strong, the water came out too strong and about as wide as a grapefruit and he never watered somebody's crops, he flushed them out of the ground where there was fruit and veg flying everywhere. People got flushed off their feet and somebody got smacked on the back of the head with a water melon where it was launched like a cannonball. Part of a barn was ruined. After the destruction, Jemery wondered why everyone thought he was an idiot. One time he tested a jet engine mounted down and the jet blast destroyed two planes and part of the airstrip. I don't know if you've seen him in Clarkson's Farm and Clarkson's Farm 2. He is so stupid. He thinks he knows everything and he never listens.

Those storms can ruin your entire year. Worst I experienced had 900 acres of rice ready to cut was starting the next day with 9 combines neighbors there to help next morning it’s all flat on the ground Mother Nature. Farmers are the biggest gamblers in the world. If nature is kind you make $ if not you don’t. And you don’t control it

I hate to see anyone getting a storm like that Down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast we haven't had any rain in over 85 days with heat in the 95=100 degrees, heat index to 121. Mother Nature has a horrible sense of humor

Sorry to see the damage from the storm and hail.😢
The young corn that is flattened if it doesn’t recover you could use it for silage for the cows, I don’t know if you have the machines to do?
You’ll need to re- inspect again in a few days or week to really see the damage.😢

  • @MarkWYoung-ky4uc

Hi Logan. I know exactly how you feel. I've been there. Most of your corn except for that last patch should get back up. Hopefully the tomatoes and peppers weren't bruised too bad. I'm guessing the newly planted strawberries were too small to sustain a lot of damage. I had a hail storm hit my tobacco one year right after I finished planting and as small as it was, it didn't really bother it. I said a long time ago, If you want to see the biggest gamblers in the country, don't go to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Go to any farm in America.
