I'm still playing with Demo and flight school but love these videos. Learning so much. Without them I may have lost interest in xplane but you make it easy to get thru the basics and some more advanced stuff too.
If anyone is having problems, make sure you are using the numpad. If you have a mac or keyboard without NUMPAD. Settings > Keyboard > Views > Quick Look > Memorize 3-D Cockpit location (change to whatever is available // You will also have to change the "Go To Save 3-D Cockpit Location")
Settings > Keyboard > Views > Quick Look > Memorize 3-D Cockpit location (change to whatever is available // You will also have to change the "Go To Save 3-D Cockpit Location")
Jeff, Thank you so much! I am a newb and I was going crazy trying to figure this out. I didn't find anything about this in the (on-line)manual. Or in the aircraft operators' manual. Just the part where it is recommended to use preset views. I did notice that this appears to apply to the NUMBER Keypad. Not the numbers above the letters on a keyboard. So, 0 thru 9... I am using an iMac with Mojave OS.
Do you need to set anything else up to achieve this. When I checked my standard settings on XP11 all cntr+ number keys were all assigned. I deleted an assignment and took the steps that are on your video but it did not record the shot. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks
Nice video! It helped me very much! Only one problem.. The combination keys to memorize and after to go to 20 custom views before are picked-up from menu settings-keyboard-views- rapid view. For example .. ctrl -numpad 0 to save custom view 1 and numpad 0 to go to custom view 1 ....The same for others custom views ... Only after we can follow the video to assign any view using ctrl-numpad 0 and after goto quickly into same view using numpad 0 ecc .... Jason thx again for your videos !!! ps: sorry for my language .. english isn't my language!
The reason most people are having problem with following this video is because they probably think he is talking about the number keys on top of the keyboard. But you are supposed to use the NUMPAD keys. Press Ctrl+ NUM 1 to save a view and NUM 1 to go back to that view later.
My views are too big and I have zoomed out as much as I can go in 3D view and also other views. I would love to have a view like you have at 1min mark in your video. Working with the rendering views and my resolution on my Mac have not helped. Have any clue? Thanks. I am using the demo version of X-Plane 10, My mac will not load version 11 for some reason.
I'm a p3d v4.1 user with chaseplane. It can't be beat. I'm thinking of starting my transition to x plane 11. Is there a way to assign the views to your joystick hat switch and other buttons in stead of the number keys? This is a deal breaker for me.
In X-Plane all, under Settings, then Keyboard look under Quick Look. The items are called "Go to save 3-D cockpit location #1" and "Memorize 3-D cockpit location #1".

I like your videos because you keep focus on the instruments and don't bounce all over the place!

Well done, I wish all tutorials I desperately are searching for were as conscious and well voiced as your videos :)
this is probably the most useful tip I have gotten for X-plane 11 so far! Thank you very much!
Great video! Thanks a lot. I'm new with X Plane and just simply love it!.
Thank you for all those useful and amazing explanations
Great intro / summary! Learned much! Thx!
Thanks, just the video I was looking for, very clearly explained.
A very good view... objective and to the point. Congratulations.
Perfectly clear ! Thanks.
Very easy to understand. Thank you. I'll get cracking!
Thank you! exactly what I needed boss!!
Thanks Jason that is really useful
Great video...great info!
Your videos are very helpful to us who are new to X Plane. Maybe in the future some videos about basic add ons.

Hi there, I have a tenkeyless keyboard and I dont have the numb pad, what do I do?
I am new to this but your directions don't seem to work for x-plane 11.5. Do you have revised directions?

I'm using the Numpad keys but they are not working
Still does not work.
Thx
You can also rotate the view with RGFH keys
how about editing external flyby viewpoint?
Nice 👍
What camera view do you have to go in to setup the views?
Is there any way to have a view of my gear in a seperate window or screen, without running multiple computers?
Can you add a video that shows step by step setting up three monitors to show dash view, left and right windows in the first and third monitor please

I can't hear ATC voice while start Flight plan ?
Does this work with TrackIR?

I think I can do this in x-camera; can anyone confirm?
Thankyou very much. But I have a problem: why too often I can't steer? (It's not related to tthis video)
Set your Rudder control to either the twist axis on your controller or to your foot peddles for steering on ground.
Trying to save view using Control plus number does not work on my PC
Any thoughts ?

He failed to clarify that you use the NUMBER PAD to do this. Also, make sure that the NumLock is selected.
