Thank you for showing how do fix it. I have no problem with the battery connection. But what happens if the wires come off the solar panel. I cannot see where it is solder to panel. Because it looks like there is some kind of glue on the panel

If the wires come off the panel, you'll lose the ability to charge the battery. You can certainly remove any hot glue to test the connection, but before that, with the panel in direct sunlight, check the voltage coming toward the battery using a multimeter. Good luck, my friend.

I repaired one of my yard art things - replaced bulb and wiring and solar doohickey - and now it only turns on during day and when solar doohickey is flipped to off position - did i get my “wires crossed”? Also- during day i put my hand over solar panel and led bulb got brighter. But once sun set, the bulb goes off completely.

It sounds like you either have a wiring issue or you have a diode / switch that is malfunctioning. Interesting little project 🔎

I had a similar situation but when I was working on it the leads to the light came off the board and I cannot for my life figure out where they go. Not little pieces of wire or anything.

If you have another, trace the wires and then re-solder your disconnected wires to their respective pads.

Wrap a badly corroded terminal in alluminium foil to get better contact.

Did you checked old battery after repair (trying to charge etc.) ?

Hi mati, if it's leaked, it will not reliably hold a good charge. I just popped in a new one and now it lasts all night! Thank you for the comment!

@@VestigialVoice It seems more like water corossion than leakage. But if it is leakage it is bad. And yes, sometimes i changed batteries in new solar light because of their bad quality -for eample lamp was able to charge 500mAh battery and battery was only 70mAh (real capacity tested on MH-C9000).On eneloop one of solar light is working 7 years and still ok.
