    one of my problems is - corrosion on the contacts I was wondering if I could use lithium grease on the contacts to protect them from corrosion? I have the same lights you showed in your video.

    Why are some of my solar batteries about a half an inch long and others are almost 2 in long? It's hard to tell when looking at a picture online the correct one to get. Why don't they provide true size pictures to compare or at least lengths? I don't want to order something online only to have it come and find out it's the teeny one.

    Can one use eneloop pro batteries in a solar device? They are not solar batteries but rechargeable so I was thinking about if it would work?

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No reason why you can't...but they are relatively pricey NiMh's so.....if theh application is worthy of Eneloop Pros then go for it and you likely don't have to worry about a bad day of solar meaning a night of no light

    How many hours should the solar light stay on at night?

  • @CaKiteboarding

    hello, good video, based on what you said, I replaced the 1.2 V 600mah with a 1.2V 2800mah in a solar light, the whole assembly got really hot and some of the plastic started melting. why? I thought it just effected the run time. Thanks

    • @ericklein5097
      @ericklein5097 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shouldn't make a difference at all so long as they are both the same voltage (technically they don't have to be the same chemistry as they now make 1.5V Lithium Ion AA's and AAA's as drop in replacements for Alkaline batteries)
      The only reason why something like that would happen is
      1. Lower internal resistance and a device that is so poorly designed that it allows an excessive amount of current to flow into the circuit
      2. Run time difference meant the light couldn't handle a battery that actually lasted the whole night so the light being on for hours straight melted the light....which is bizarre but seeing some of the el cheapo batteries they put in solar lights that don't last 4 hours this wouldn't surprise me....Chinese company just designs the product to withstand the shitty run time of the battery included and not take into consideration someone could put a quality battery in that lasts all night
      3. You reversed the polarity

      @Bidenmytime 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its possible it kept the light running longer thus heating the housing for longer than it had previously.
      The fix one thing, and there are likely to be other weak spots soon after

    Is there a specific charger for solar light batteries?

    • @TheTenergybattery
      @TheTenergybattery  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pallet Master, generally the solar light will have a solar panel and can recharge the batteries without needing a separate charger. If you would like, you can get a NiCD or NiMH charger to recharge these AA batteries instead.

    So this is the first time I bought this type of product .. I thought you don’t need batteries for solar lights? Defeats the purpose.. I’m confused. So you want these with batteries to last longer on gloomy days? Or what’s the difference between these with regular solar only

    • @striblingwunghousehold8926
      @striblingwunghousehold8926 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Solar panels do not store energy, they instantly generate and transfer energy, so if you needed to run a light during the daytime such as in a house or RV etc and did not need it later at night then you'd be gold maybe, but if you are using solar to run things while there is no light, you need something that stores the energy it creates, hence the battery packs. These will store the generated energy and hold it until it is needed. As it is rechargeable it should last longer than a 'regular' battery.

    Hard to find garden solar lights with replaceable batteries!

    • @dmo848
      @dmo848 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most are held together with just snap clips on the plastic housing of the device, so i found out jus a normal flat head screw driver pops them apart to get at the battery.

    I bought solar lights from Sam's Club with 900mAh Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. I can not find 900mAh Ni-MH batteries. Would it be okay to use 1000mAh Ni-MH batteries?

    • @TheTenergybattery
      @TheTenergybattery  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Linda, the mAh is just the capacity of the battery, a higher number means the battery can hold more energy. This means replacing the 900mAh Ni-MH batteries with 1,000mAh Ni-MH batteries is fine and is actually an upgrade; since your solar garden light can run longer on a single charge now since it can hold 100mAh more power.
