Eraser Review Part 1: Hardtmuth, Artgum, Pink Pearl, Milan, Mars, Mini Softy, Mr. Pen, Faber Castell

- I took a comparative look at the erasers in my "eraser box," which I use daily in writing, as well as when I create pencil review videos. The erasers evaluated in this video include:
L & C Hardtmuth natural rubber eraser
Artgum rubber (gum) eraser
Paper Mate Pink Pearl synthetic rubber eraser
Milan synthetic rubber eraser
Staedtler Mars plastic eraser
Maped Mini Softy plastic eraser
Mr. Pen vinyl eraser
Faber-Castell plastic eraser
In creating lines of graphite to erase with the above list of erasers, I used the following #2/HB pencils:
USA Titanium
Dixon Ticonderoga (black)
Pen+Gear
Musgrave Ceres
Blackwing 602
General's Cedar Pointe
I have the softy from Maped, but in normal size, it's endless. A couple of months I bought the Maped Technic Ultra, the one that has the core blue, and a Ticonderoga eraser with the form of a pencil. Both of them are really cool, but my favorite is the Technic Ultra.
Hi C. Perez - I have not tried the Technic Ultra, but I will look for it and pick one up. The Softy from Maped is a good overall eraser and even this small sized one has lasted for a long time. Thanks!

Hello! Thank you for the videos! I’ve noticed in your pencil reviews you use the same pencil sharpener. Have you done a review on small sharpeners like that or do you have a favorite make/model?
Hi Dan! I haven't done a review of small sharpeners - I don't have that many of them. I actually prefer a full-sized hand-crank sharpener, but the Helix brand small sharpener I use on many videos I find to be very good. It catches all the shavings and graphite dust, and sharpens nicely. I'll have to do a video that takes a closer look at these sharpeners. Thanks!
I just got the Mars eraser at Office Depot but have not used it yet. Glad to know it does ok. I've noticed the USA Titanium leaves a shadow most of the time. I do make a lot of mistakes.

So many stores are making their own in-house stationery brands now, even drugstores are doing it! I noticed CVS now has its own brand called Wexford I think and they make the white vinyl erasers if you have one near you and want to review those.
Hi SV. It seems like many stores have house-brands of office and school supplies. I tried the Wexford pencils and I didn't care for them. Maybe the erasers would be better. Thanks!
@@AlwaysAnalog most likely yes because vinyl erasers like the white eraser blocks many brands make erase so much better than the pink wedge ones.
@@AlwaysAnalog I have the little erasers that come with the Apsara and Nataraj pencils, have you ever reviewed those? I can send you the ones I have if you'd like to review them.
Really like the Staedler. Had 4 different mechanical pencils & their eraser for drafting class over 2 decades ago.
The Mars? In my experience it erases well but needs a little too much force to erase effectively. I prefer the Faber-Castell Dust Free.
If you want to upgrade, the best erasers out there are: Tombow Mono Plastic. Sakura Sumogrip and Pentel Light and Soft. They remove graphite better and faster, without damaging the paper's teeth, also they don't smudge!

Have you ever reviewed novelty erasers? They erase pretty well. I have a package of erasers that look like money though I've never used them.

You should try the brand tombow mono, they have really good ones for like £2. On amazon
