I've found doing one thing at a time definitely helps. I am almost 4 years sober. My mind was in chaos. First, I concentrated on staying off the booze. Then I needed to start working and I decided I needed to better serve others. So, I went back to school at 48 years old and got my AS for medical assisting. It was perfect, because it was 1 course at a time. So, I know you want life to be normal right now, an end to the pain. You can only move forward, one step at a time. Patience! Do not try to do a complete change all at once. That is the path of someone who isn't ready to really let go and move forward.

I have a friend that always talks of "monkey bar syndrome" - in a playground kids will play on the bars, they swing from one to another; but to get to the next one you have to let go of the one you're holding on to and for a split second, you're in mid air..

    • @grahamzvi3293

That's beautiful, so we could say if we don't let go, we are swinging a perpetual pattern of ' If only we went, can and did, we would, could and should, leaving us in a monotonous, pattern of doubt ?

Oh Rabbi thank you once again. I’m crying. I’m 56 with 2 grown beautiful sons. I’m still controlled by my past. I do not know how to get beyond the pain of the lifelong rejection, gaslighting and scapegoating from my father. It still rules me, prevents sleep, it is the issue of my life. Now that I’m completely alone and working so hard to rebuild financially and spiritually, it is the obstacle. I’m still so sad. Do I chase him and keep trying like a discarded puppy, to simply be true to myself? A good person and a thoughtful daughter, though he ignores me. Or do I in kind ignore him and try to bust through all of this somehow? I’ve worked on this all my life, and still. I do not want to continue with this for my kids, for my hope of being a stronger happier person. I am stuck with this great dilemma. Love and gratitude… Michelle Hannah

I think maybe have a think about the qualities and the depth of character this trauma has caused you. Try see how strong you actually are due to struggling you are going through....maybe it has something to do with your greater purpose, your true calling? I believe you have it in you with Gods help to see how this experience has beautifully shaped your character and not let the lies about the trauma break you. I pray you see the truth and the light. You are unique due to your experience. A winner not the loser, you are the head not the tail. God has an amazing purpose for you.

You know why I hate to receive blessings? It's because when I know that I failed to keep them or to actually benefit from them it reminds me just how much things will never get better. It's the measure in which how I will never reach the top because I see through it how high the mountain goes. There's only so long you can roll a rock up hill with no one to lend a hand before you give up trying and let it take you down to the bottom willingly.

Rabbi, my grandmother told me one time and I will never forget because a relative had told me something about my grandfather who I knew only through my grandmother. She had to go through his early passing, but loved him and dreamed of him often to 96 years of age. My grandmother was beautiful within as well as without and well respected and loved. She said, "I only remember the good things, and I never heard her speak ill of anyone. That had a great impression on me and I hope it shows because sometimes I have to say hard things. I hope it is sufficiently observed. My heart is always to comfort. I don't like to confront, but I will do it if necessary.

As a young African American lady, I’ve been looking for a Jewish teacher or mystic to learn because I know that the Bible and what I’ve been taught is not the truth. The Bible is a mixture of astrology, proverbs, teachings and diluted knowledge of self. We’ve been told all our lives that it’s something on the outside or exogenous that will save us….and that is quite the contrary. A few days ago this rabbi popped up on my feed and I’ve been watching ever since. Lol the algorithms must’ve knew I was tired of searching. ❤

This guy is a gem family
His wisdom is as useful as it’s practical implementation. You have to be that 1-3% that actively go onto that journey. I love his wisdom but we are fools if we done put into practice.
    Just do it 💪🏿
