- My very first porcelain ball jointed doll doll came today and I'm just obsessed as can be. The porcelain BJD was made by Anastasia and Sergey at Lutsenko Dolls. I hope you enjoy this! Comment and subscribe!

This is one of the references I used to ease my worries about buying my own porcelain BJD. After I bought one and before she arrived I was insanely worried about how well they can be posed and how durable they are when being posed. I just wanted to give you a quick thank you for being one of the few people that have reviewed a porcelain BJD and easing my fears especially after spending so much money for her.
joey dahl thanks Joey! I was worried about that too and while waiting for my doll to come I didn't have very many videos to watch on TH-cam about it so I had to make my own. I'm really glad I did because I think it helps
To see one in action. I will eventually do a posing video but I just haven't had a chance yet!
Custard Pie Consortium: That was one of the things that really surprised me. At the time there was probably something like 72 or so sold dolls on the artist's website (BTW the company is called Forgotten Hearts) and it is so hard to believe that not one of those dolls has a review by the person who bought them though there are a few videos by the artists mostly being still image shots. I mean I am just itching to do a TH-cam review on her! I really hope that I can at least borrow a means of putting a video on TH-cam in the coming months as I only have a smart phone. Do you think I should just use a smart phone in the interim and replace that video later when I get a nicer quality camera?

Wow! Her engineering is amazing! I love the 'peeking suede' look of porcelain BJDs. I have many resin ones but no porcelain. I've long admired the Lutsenkos, and she is simply gorgeous!! Congratulations on her, she's breath-taking!

Omg this is so beautiful but I am just thinking of myself and my clumsiness and kind of crying over how I would break it within the first 5 minutes of owning it (i have only resin bjds and ive dropped them so many times I cry)
I know Lutsenko Dolls makes a resin doll or two too! Just in case you like the look of their dolls but don't want try fragility that comes with porcelain! I was on the fence myself but decided I just love porcelain. I've been a sucker for porcelain since I was young and used to go antiquing with my mom!

She is absolutely gorgeous. I know this video is over four years old, but if you still have her, you might want to fill the chipped area with a little Apoxie sculpt. Porcelain is incredibly fragile, and the loss of some of the wall can lead to future cracking. Thank you for the wonderful unboxing video!

Thank you so much for your comment! It means so much to me. I think Anastasia and Sergey excel at fine details (like freckles and body blushing). Her skin looks real in so many ways. I can't wait to put up more videos of her. I think I'll do a movement video next once I get the hang of posing her!
I completely missed the part where you mentioned her coming in time for your birthday, so I wanted to wish you a happy birthday! I hope it's a great one. A movement video sounds great. I've always enjoyed those but I don't see very many in my subscriptions box lately, it'll be refreshing to see again! I agree with you on the fine details being excellent, I might just have to get an addition to my doll family!

The flexible stand on Alice's Collection is extremely, almost frustratingly strong. For safety, you will want to remove a porcelain doll from it before adjusting it's position, as it's extremely firm. However, this means that iot is sturdy and trustworthy even for heavy dolls, and it is easy to hide in photos as you can bend parts of it behind the doll, and it is a chrome finish with clear grip and base. It's lovely.

That sounds about right. Porcelain is even harder to work with than resin, because of shrinkage (porcelain shrinks as it dries), and the fact that porcelain has a bad habit of blowing up during kiln firing. In addition, slip porcelain doesn't hold the level of detail of a resin mold - so all of the detail has to be re-carved by hand. Think of each doll having to be made TWICE.

You can, I believe, order heeled feet but I didn't want them at the time.

Yes! What did you need help with? If you want a Lutsenko Doll look at their Instagram Lutsenko_dolls and see what doll you're interested in by looking through the photos. Then you can message them and ask the price and time, etc. Then once you pay half the cost of the doll, the down payment, they start making it! Mine took 2.5 months

I understand the need to be very careful with it so you don’t damage it but it’s like she was moving in slow motion. I’m not referring to unwrapping it. I’m talking about when she just turned it around to show the front and when she just touched the wig. I’m 100% certain that the wig isn’t made of glass and definitely will not break. Just annoying.
