That 10bit encoder is sick
I only just started seeing this extent of storage tech and I'm already looking forward to whatever you put out next
you are criminally underated
This looks so challenging yet so fun to learn
Didn't expect there to be so many vids in the secret encoded tech TH-cam playlist!!
Minor correction @8:34.
A 10-bit encoder that has 1 bit per chest needs 100 chests to accommodate 1024 items. Each bit corresponds to half the total number of items, so 1024 * (1/2) = 512.
Now do 512 items per bit / 54 items in a chest and round up. That'll be 10 chests per bit. 10 bits * 10 chests / bit = 100 chests.
(Concatenative) bitgrouping isn't the optimal encoder map for 1024 unique codes. The minimum number of chests needed to encode 1024 items uniquely is 41. Bitgrouping is a methodology that balances user readability with chest length. The idea being, one does not need to pull up a spreadsheet to assign an item to a particular index.
Lovely overview video. I think the history of encoded tech was a bit muddled-the needle has been pushed by a myriad of people over the last three years. If you do intend to spot-drop more history, message me. I'll do my best to access the archives of my memory.
i would love to do a history lesson, but this video was already longer than i wanted LOL.
And another awesome video!
Will there be a video for the J-MIS v3? Such a lovely storage, I'd love for it to get some more visibility on YT!
Great vid! I've loved the amount of encoded discussion happening on Storage Tech Discord lately. Raps and Moony link below?
did I forget to credit you two?
@@jayroi1661yeah i think so.
Finally i can rest. Great video
Love this resource pack for the hoppers
You're a godsend!
storage tech is my passion
That is a very cool chest hall unloader and some nice control wiring, I wonder who made it.
I found this video weeks ago.... I got busy and wanted to come back. Took me a week to find it again knowing what I was looking for. Subbing and saving this video. I am trying to wrap my head around decoding and encoding. I think I am starting to understand the concepts, but the how to convert it into Minecraft blocks and build the thing is still a little beyond me. Going to watch another time or two before I start tinkering, but this basically solves all my problems with the base I wanted to build in one way or another. I also want to expand this concept into autocrafters, and try to figure out a system that autocrafts an item if it is empty and the materials are in the system. Just have to store all the recipes and set up different crafters with different configurations and make the system know how to pick the correct config and materials in the correct order......... I have already made an industrial potion factory, so I think this inventory setup, a way to restock certain farms automatically using this system, and an autocrafter system are all I have to develop to never have to play the game to play the game again. I want something, my base makes it for me. There are of course some things you have to farm manually, but I have a lot of automatic farm designs and concepts saved/ worked on. Also with the hermits making their mail system, they also solved my ineptness with building. I can just make tons of chunk loaded bases around a central network for all of my pieces, and connect the whole thing through the nether. Inb4 RIP my pc
For selecting which chest slice to put the items into, couldn't you add together illlegal signal strengths (>15) doubling for each bit of the encoded value, and then have a single long line of comparators one for each slice that -1 from the strength each time. Then, find where the comparator line runs out of signal strength, and that's your selected slice?
ULTIMATE
😱👍
This video helped so much with my project. Thanks alot🙏
Fully computerized storage when?
AE2
Going to tell my kids this was AE2.
yooo finally
Nice
what does my man have against lapis
Is there a link to the binary decoder by Crain? I can't find a video about it anywhere
i will never understand any of this, as much as i would like to :(
Constructive criticism, and I’m still watching: I feel like the music volume could be turned down a bit. It’s quite distracting and that hurts, especially such a complex topic
It’s not always too loud. This seems like a really good video though, and I appreciate the knowledge being shared. Thank you
I just searched up cobble stone generator
Where cart
check the encoder
@@jayroi1661 needs more cart
bro wtf, i just want to sort my god damn items man what is this 😭😭
Sigh.
just use a dolphin impulse sorter or a mis :P encoded is for funsies
jayrussy my beloved 😖
