I love your Liberty loves. I am also love sewing Liberty prints, especially their more whimsical designs. You have recently inspired me to buy the Alder Shirtdress and the Archer Buttonup patterns, which I am making the Alder in a slate blue linen with Liberty Floral Symphony in the collar, cuffs, skirt, etc. I will be using the sleeves from the Archer. Thank you for all of the inspiration; you are so lovely and talented 😊 ❤️

Thank you so much! I love both those patterns and hope you like them too. I am nearly done with my watermelons Archer shirt and its awesome.

I love that you choose such whimsical fabrics! You HAVE to make that short for your hubby so you can match! 🤭
What lovely little girls you have! I can do see that dress being turned into a skirt. I wish I k ew how to sew when my kids were younger.

I literally have a fabric store in my sewing studio! 🤫😌 I decided to take sections of fabrics, put patterns to each one and sew away! Fall is coming, the holidays are around the corner...perfect time to sew down my stash and sooth my soul during these uncertain times 🤦🏾‍♀️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Just Sew!!!

A great tip for fear of cutting into fabric you love.
Go through your already used patterns and pair it down to your favorites! You know those beloved patterns you have made over and over. Now compare the treaasured fabric yardage to those beloved patterns. It pairs down your options quickly to which is the right pattern. If the fabric is not "your colors" then make a bottom piece with it. If its a print fabric then you can always pair it with one of "your colors" as a top piece.
At this point you are going to be overjoyed with the thought of the final item that the project will just fly out of your workshop in record time. When you are done you get to wakeup every morning and find your beautiful fabric waiting to greet you and bring joy to your day before it has even begun. 🙂

Lovely fabrics. Love Liberty too. Have a shirt from the lime green Tresco print, and gave queue for the zoo yet yo be made up into a shirt. So easy yo forget what you already have.

Lol, you make me laugh! I want Liberty, too! They always say 'blouse,' 'shirt,' and, 'shirt-dress' to me. Maxi? Oh yes.

You've motivated me to stop procrastinating and cut out a Myosotis maxi dress in (non Liberty) cotton lawn. Just need to clear the kitchen island first.

Those last 3 are really special .. me, me, Liberty is for me!! Make those first and love them. It may help you to not be tempted unduly.
Your husband will look good in the shirt fabrics so "allow" him to have those.
    Maxi dress fabric .. yes!
All the others are good in different ways. Ask your daughters to choose their own favourite. Introducing them to good quality fabric is something really nice you can do for them. It helps them to be discerning later.

Oh my days - this - "Introducing them to good quality fabric is something really nice you can do for them. It helps them to be discerning later." - I love this so much. I only learnt to appreciate high quality items in my thirties and wasted so much money buying false economy cheap items. Thanks for sharing!

Holy cr@$p. Yup. Right there with you. I did splurge on a meter of Liberty 100% silk champagne brocade to make into a vest but I haven’t SEWN it yet. I want to make first versions in other fabrics first. Your fabrics are lovely

Very interesting. I have a little Liberty stash of my own. I have big plans to sew through most of it by year end. I think that first fabric could work really well for you if you did some thoughtful colour blocking. There are some really pretty bright accent colours and I am sure you could find a Tana Lawn plain that would make it sing. You could use it as a yoke or collar so that the colour you like is close to your face. Good luck!

How about saving your scraps to make a quilt using the milky green and grey colours as a calming base mixed with the brilliant tones. Personally, I am not a quilter but I can see the possibilities! It's great that you have 2 colourways of the neutral fabrics .. complimentary but interesting when combined.

I can see myself getting into quilting eventually. I've seen some inspiring quilts over the years.

Also for the grey and milky green, how about a shirt for hubby. And for the vibrant ones, curtains would be nice. Or frame then for your sewing room. That way you can see them ask the time

I only have 1 Liberty I can't cut. What is you favorite ladies shirt pattern?

I have used Sewaholic Granville shirt several times but I had to make many many adjustments to suit me as they draft for pear shape - I have very broad shoulders. I do like the Archer button down from Grainline Studio - tha one fit me without any alterations.v

Perhaps if you have enough fabric you can cut a square of the design and file it so that you can always look at it 😀🤞🏻 and the grey and milky green colour ways don’t have to be items of clothing, would they not work in the decor of some of your rooms perhaps? X

For the dinosauer print in 3 colorways, wouldn't it be cute for a dress or top for you and the twins. You could have photos done together as stationery or Xmas.

Those muted gray and green could be nice in a long dress with tiers and put a flattering color next to your face.
