      ***** How do you know they were gay?

    • @antonahill
      @antonahill 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you saying, then, that a gay activist who likes to have sex with boys equals all gay people like to have sex with boys? So much for your logic. :)

    • @antonahill
      @antonahill 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That wasn't the question. Question was, are you saying, then, that a gay activist who likes to have sex with boys equals all gay people like to have sex with boys? It's an easy, yes/no question.
      To answer your question, because pedophilia isn't about gender, but rather power and control.
      How is your point on Phelps relevant?

    • @antonahill
      @antonahill 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you know what the "part to whole" fallacy is? How do you know that part of a population bearing a trait (pedophilia) necessarily leads to the entire population bearing that trait?
      It's absolutely you're right to campaign tirelessly against gays adopting children, but does it bother you that your campaign is a futile one? In time, law-abiding gay citizens will have identical rights to law-abiding straight ones. This has borne out again and again. Soon, your views will be relegated to history's many footnotes.

    • @pinkpriss

      ***** You could not be more wrong! happen to know a gay male couple that have three adopted boys. They raised them since preschool ages. The eldest one recently started at a prestigious coed private college to which me earned an all expense paid athletic scholarship and has a girlfriend. The next oldest is a senior in high school who is also a straight-A student just like his two brothers (BTW: what kind of grades did you get in school? I doubt all 'A's) and already has offers from five Ivy League colleges (its a safe bet he too will get an AEP scholarship.), is also a star athlete and is madly in love with a gal he has been with since the eighth grade. The third is only thirteen but being a star athlete as his brothers, apparently he has sixteen year old girls chasing him. And that is just one example but one is all we need to prove you ridiculously wrong wrong wrong, haaaa! BTW: you are aware that homophobia has been firmly linked to repressed homosexual desires, right? Yeah, that means YOU, buffy! Of course, all I had to do to put you in place would be to ask you to cite your sources of your infinite mis-wisdom and have you say that you conjured your statement up in your little homophobic mind and it has no basis in science, fact, experience or knowledge. So, may this writ follow you around on Google Plus...BEWARE THE FALSELY PONTIFICATING "hotathlete2", he/she makes stuff up. Haaaaaaaaaaaa!

    Having had run ins with Fred and Shirley in the past - I applaud not only Nate's ingenuity (in waiting until the clock struck midnight), and bravado. But thank him for his decency, honesty and his sheer integrity. Being gay, I may not like what WBC thinks about me (lucky to have a loving family who knew when I was a kid, that a wife, kids and picket fence were not in my future). As an American I have to give WBC their right to speak. As a caring, sensible person - I choose not to listen.

    So maybe it should come a time where the collective put aside their differences about whether or not this constitutes a freedom of speech, take the metaphorical cigar as a whole, and burn the leech right off our arms before it ruins more of our lives, steals more of our money, and mocks more of our dead. Fred is a walking corpse unfit to be called human, and his grinning shrew of a daughter deserves just as much to be stricken till she can't even smile anymore.

    I HOPE that one day people could be a little more sensitive to understanding the dynamics of abuse. It would be a tragedy if the legacy of this sick man's abuse lead to the suicide of the people he held in violent bondage for so long. I think a better resolution would be an enlightenment and rebellion and dissolution of this "church." These people may be hateful but they are suffering terrible because of Fred's violent and abusive tendencies.

    I have to disagree to some point. When they came here and were virtually ignored by the mourners, shunned by local mediam and restricted contact due to newly enacted (mainly by their own doing, due to them protesting a gay murder victims memorial service - Billy Jack Gaither years earlier), they were gone in 10 minutes - if they stayed that long. I was with our local gay media at the time and even we ignored we their second visit. We did cover the Gaither service more out of him being gay

    It seems to me that all this church can do is quote and mangle biblical verses to say that God hates everyone and seem to be able to disrespect everyone to spread this, divinely protected.
    But from what I understand, hate is one of the most deadliest sins to ever be committed, yet God hates. And they say all sinners are evil...so it seems, by the Westboro, that God is an evil sinner. Yet in the bible they mangle up, God loves all and says to love thy fellow man.
    Who's really religious there?

  • @MetalSmasherGaming

    @Nomiss9 I consider myself the second type of agnostic. A lot of my best friends are Christians, but most of my skepticism comes from religious psychos like Fred Phelps. I haven't completely turned away from God, but I'm just not sure which side of God is real, the loving side I see in my friends or the dark and evil side I see in people like Fred.

    @kazooga1234 This is the definition I found:
    a. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
    b. One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
    The first one is the most common one, I think, and he didn't agree with it. Also, atheism is just the opposite of theism (believing in a god), and since he doesn't seem to believe in a specific god you could just as well call him an atheist. We shouldn't force labels on people though.

    @paulpizzey1973 i wouldn't say that believing in God is necessarily a bad thing. yes there are those freaks that start wars and hostile relations over the topic of religion, but most of people use the concept of "God" as good thing in their lives. I think that everyone needs 3 things in life: something to love, something to work at, and something to believe in. anything can fit these categories, and it doesn't have to be God, but some people do. By the way, I'm a christian and I'm not insane.
