@@nameunavailable-gp3ot I think it's a biodegradable foam. Here in the US, Drano brand drain cleaner is the typical answer, and it's really freaking toxic.
Plumber here, another option is to get vinegar and dump a cup down every hour for 4-8 hours. Afterward, mix up some Dawn with some hot water (not boiling) and rinse it down your drains. Vinegar is lightly acidic and pouring it down the drain will cause it to flake off scum buildup. The soapy hot water afterward will help by clearing the drain of the loosened scum.
Will that also clean the overfill area? I have a pedestal sink with no way to access the p trap unless we remove the sink from the wall and there's a very unpleasant odor emanating from the sink that doesn't go away for long even after bleach is poured down the drain
@@be9988 Assuming it's a tub, the overfill is a bit harder to get to but it should work the same. That company is for sure gonna pay the bill, and it’s a big one. I got paid though so I’m cool with expanding foam in drains 😂
This probably works better on baths and would most likely be a waste of money for sinks as they are smaller and easier to access and therefor clean. Cleaning pipes down the line will probably require acid(commercial sulfuric acid works well but do take precautions).
Absolutely, under no circumstance, should you EVER put chemicals down your drain pipes. If you have blockages, you need to use snakes. If it is further down, you need to calla plumber or rent a commercial power auger. Pouring acid down your pipes will just result in you needing to replace your pipes because you corroded them to the point of them collapsing.
@@IIlicitMost cleaners, especially like this one, are basic and not acidic. Also the concentration of these bases are absolutely *nowhere* near the concentrated power needed to corrode your pipes. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Japanese innovation is on a different level. I've tried a sticky paper trap for roaches that you assemble into house, and it's effective beyond my expectations. It's full of roaches when i check it in the morning. The standard stucky paper only trps 2-3
No, im a plumber and this is a scam. FIrst of all, you don't need to "clean" your pipes. If anything, you need to update your pipes to PVC. Your above ground pipes will always have a little grease and residue in them no matter what. If you really want your pipes PROPERLY cleaned you need to get it snaked out properly. foam in a can will not replace a snake machine. Besides, all that gunk you pushed up will just go right back into your trap. The idea is to push it through into your underground plumbing and eventually outside.
I feel like this is more a quick fix in a can for when your sink doesnt drain like it shouldnt and you dont want to call a plumber due to the cost Although it doesnt offer remotely the same quality, for barely a few bucks it looks like a decent quick mediocre to get a drain draining not so slow
I'm also a plumber, and while I certainly wouldn't use something like this, it could possibly do a decent job clearing some gunk out of the tailpiece and the trap if you're lazy and don't want to take it apart. It definitely wouldn't work on anything worse though. And it would be alot cheaper to just take the trap apart and clean it, if thats where your issue is. Oh shit, I mean... call a plumber
There is always an expert trying to correct t and expert after and expert and then come all the experts... people just have to add their 2 and 3 cent ...
Way cheaper way to unclog your drain: Find a plastic bottle that fully seals the drain hole and forcefully squish it together. Basically creating the same effect a plunger does, but multiple times stronger. The pressure you create this way is able to unclog just about anything you got stuck down there.
He's using it wrong. Cover / plug the overflow and the foam will go past the water U-trap into the pipes. Slow drains build a slime layer that hangs from the top. Liquid drain cleaners don't reach up there but the foam will.
@@DMahalko Its not suitable for every sink too. Mine has holes underneath connected with overflow, i think its just the way they cast it and/or its a breather. It would make my sink full of foam and later i'd find all the mess inside the counter

That quiet "ewww" while he was watching the foam works was perfect lmao. Also, the accidental spraying right in the face was hilarious too, hopefully it didnt get in his eyes.
Well, it's most likely leftover material that doesn't get washed away by water, so the foam most likely bonds to the material to get it out so you can wash it down the drain as normal, just a guess though.
I think you wipe the nasty bits and wash the clean foam down, since there’s nothing dirty about the clean foam shouldn’t be a problem going back down, as for the crap that came out definitely would not recommend putting back in the pipe you just cleaned it out of. Seems self defeating and idiotic

"I guess you're just supposed to look into this lightsaber and press on it..?"
I feel like this is more a quick fix in a can for when your sink doesnt drain like it shouldnt and you dont want to call a plumber due to the cost
Although it doesnt offer remotely the same quality, for barely a few bucks it looks like a decent quick mediocre to get a drain draining not so slow

Way cheaper way to unclog your drain: Find a plastic bottle that fully seals the drain hole and forcefully squish it together. Basically creating the same effect a plunger does, but multiple times stronger. The pressure you create this way is able to unclog just about anything you got stuck down there.
Like a normal big coke bottle?
It’s not unclogging though, it’s just a cleaner.
This is for cleaning not for unclogging
This is for cleaning, not unclogging.

For those that try it and it doesn't work need to remember, it is a Japanese product for use on Japanese water appliances

We have something similar in Switzerland. Not a foam but an extremely high pressure spray that will blast any blockages from orbit. Excellent for usage in kitchen sinks that have gotten blocked due to long term buildup of oil from washing pans
Do not pressurize your pipes please. Porter that specializes in plumbing. Pressure + Twisty pipes = pipes being displaced

district 9 ahh mistake
Now I mean question is do you wash it back down the drain or wipe it up and throw it away?
Wash it back down
That’s what I was wondering 😂
Well, it's most likely leftover material that doesn't get washed away by water, so the foam most likely bonds to the material to get it out so you can wash it down the drain as normal, just a guess though.
Once its dry wipe it off
I think you wipe the nasty bits and wash the clean foam down, since there’s nothing dirty about the clean foam shouldn’t be a problem going back down, as for the crap that came out definitely would not recommend putting back in the pipe you just cleaned it out of. Seems self defeating and idiotic
