I did this earlier. I'm so glad i checked out YT first before putting that egg in the microwave. My first try at 4 minutes got me a really runny egg. Still good though! I guess next time i should go for 5. I want a soft boiled one. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching! On top of adding an extra minute in the microwave, also remember the egg will continue to cook if you leave it in the water for a while after removing it from the microwave. 🤠👍
Good question, I wouldn't do way too many eggs at once; however, if you'd want to increase it to 2 or 3 here's what to do. first you will have to add more water and salt. Second, the more water you add the longer it will take for the microwave to boil the water. Third make sure your container is just wide enough or just deep enough to make sure the eggs can be submerged. Once the water is steaming then you're pretty good you do not have to wait for it to actually look like it's boiling. Keep on adding one minute at a time until you see the water steam. Hope this helps, have a great day.
I have a thousand one hundred watt microwave at home that I used. I believe about 4 minutes for 1,200 w and approximately 7 minutes for a 700 watt. Good question. Thanks for watching
How long you leave the eggs in the ice is up to you. The cold bath holds the cooking process and allows you to safely handle the eggs. Also, fresh eggs are harder to peel, if you use eggs that are closer to their expiration date you will find them easier to peel. You can also roll the hard boiled egg around in a big jar that will help crack the shell into smaller pieces which might make it easier for you as well. Thank you for watching my video.
That depends on the plastic, if it's a high tempered plastic measuring cup, then it could withstand the temperature of the boiling water. As long as it's a high quality plastic that won't melt in the microwave then yes it will work, it does not have to be glass. Great question, thank you for watching.
The green ring is harmless and safe to eat. It is caused by overcooking and or a high iron content in your water. I might suggest reducing your cooking time by a little bit at first, and see if that helps. Thank you kindly for watching my video!
microwaves are partially blocked by salt ions, preventing them from reaching the egg. Also, salt water heats more slowly in a microwave than pure water, causing the egg to cook more gradually... more like boiling an egg on a stovetop. Thank you for watching my video. 😁
It does as good of a job as a frying pan or an oven, or a pot of water would. Killing bacteria and making food safe is all about food temperature. So it is just as safe as other cooking methods, if that is what you're asking.
Basically a microwave heats by vibrating molecules through micro wave. The salt makes the water vibrate at a different rate. microwaves are partially blocked by salt ions, preventing them from reaching the egg. Thanks for the tutorial, but I am a little confused. "The magic ingredient when hard boiling eggs is salt." Do I not add the salt if I'm soft boiling it?
ADD salt. Sorry for any confusion, yes add the salt for the soft boiled eggs too. If you do not add the salt the egg will bust open in the microwave and make a mess.
Yes you could, you're going to have to add enough water to make sure that the eggs are completely submerged, and an appropriate amount of salt for however much more water you're adding. And increase the time by a little bit let's say about a minute. I've only done one at a time but the science behind it is sound and you would be able to cook two eggs at a time. 👍🤠
Yeah, the salt is the magic ingredient. My condolences on the mess. I had that happen to me once before I figured this trick out and ever since I've been doing it this way I've never had it blow up on me.
Good luck, and thanks for watching my video. With different microwaves having different wattage you might have to adjust the times. And yes, please don't forget the salt. LOL.
If you actually paid attention to the video, you would realize that's how long you leave it in the hot water, to continue cooking. Seriously don't comment if you're just going to be a troll.
I have seen a lot of videos on doing soft boiled eggs in the microwave. This has been the best.
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching!

Can I reuse the salted water and put it in the ref so that I could avoid to keep using tablespoons of salt?
If you really want to reuse the salted water I don't see why you couldn't a few times but I wouldn't do it more than that.

How about no water only egg in your oven?
325°f 20-30 minutes. Works very well in muffin tin, microwave is faster. Thank you for watching and for your comment 👍.

Plus long au micro onde qu'à la casserole.....
I suppose that depends on how quickly you can get the water to boil on the stove. Have a great day
This is moronic. Steam them. (Google steaming eggs)
This is quicker
You lie that shit did not work you lie Randy
Did you add the salt!?
Bro this works I do it every day
Terrible advice. The explosion will ruin your microwave and the cleanup will take half an hour
That why you add salt.
The salt causes the water to vibrate at a different rate when cooking in the microwave, that prevents the egg from exploding.
Guy puts hard boiled for 5 min but writes on plate for 10 min. Doesn’t say the time for soft boiled and writes 0 min. What a tool.
