@@syroyid Yes, it was called "Liane" . I think it was the last piece he wrote. He stopped writing at an early age to concentrate on conducting and teaching. Which I think was a great shame. P.S. I've never heard the opera !!!
@@DavidA-ps1qr I just checked on Google and TH-cam and couldn't find a recording of "Liane", if you find a recording of a segment of it by any chance, please, do let me know. PS: definitely it is a shame that he stopped writing music. This trio is extremely coherent, beautiful and well written
Fantastic stuff. Great performance btw. Thanks!
A lovely trio with interesting counterpoint and harmony
GRATITUDE ! - SPLENDID DISCOVERY !!

Sounds as good as Brahms. Which composer does this style reminds you of??
He was admired by Brahms until he wrote an opera that was influenced by Wagner. And that was the end of that !! :-)
@@DavidA-ps1qr Really? I didn't know that. What was the name of the opera?
@@syroyid Oh GOD, I thought you might ask me that!!! I'll have to look that up. It was just one word, I think.

Not quite as good as ground breaking Opus 1, but still lively and inventive. Some lovely modulation going on in movement IV.
