I don’t think Faure was completely deaf or really deaf at all. He had some sort of hearing problem that distorted music for him such that music became painful to listen to. Of course many composers with more or less perfect hearing compose straight to paper anyway. (Once when I was suffering from acute hydronephrosis, music was temporarily fairly painful for me to listen to as well. I had some old pieces to edit and one actually to rearrange. The problem with the latter wasn’t so much the heating itself. It’s that I’m synesthetic. I associate music with color and taste, and the disease temporarily made most food repulsive to me. For a long while I couldn’t even think of the piece without getting queasy, and consequently I couldn’t judge its worth.)
I'm reading a lot comments praising this "unknown" trio, but... Is it ? I feel like it's played all the time and recorded a lot, as much as Ravel's, way more than Debussy's or Chausson's, as much as Saint Saen's or Franck's...
Is there a chance that you can find a recording for the Requiems of Françous Giroust and François Joseph Fetis. Also, can you do a score video of Francesc Juncá's requiem?
Such a beautiful piece, but so much of the violin and cello parts are written in parallel octaves or unisons. I mean it works obviously but it's very unusual for chamber music.

One of Fauré’s last pieces… may his music never be forgotten.
this hidden masterpiece must be the best piano trio ever composed
Im still in love with shostakovich 2. Piano trio.
Funny, I just did a TH-cam search for "piano trio" & this was TH-cam's top recommendation. This was one of my favorites nearly 40 ago.
Me too exactly. Beautiful exquisite composition
Same, that is how I got her!
Beautiful 🥰
the second movement of this piece is one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard
_have_ ever heard, and yes
for me it's the first movement... it's transcendental
Grossly underrated work. Thanks very much for sharing.
You are absolutely right
Considering it was composed by the time he was completely deaf, it makes the composition incredibly soulful

No way.
It's such a forgotten masterpiece.
This is my comfort music...
Nice to hear that old friend in such capable hands. Thanks :)
un capolavoro
Good music for relaxation.
Heaven's soundtrack
Beautiful!
Очень красивое трио,я,бы сказала ,единение двух душ , и полная их гормония.Партии скрипки и виолончели в унисон подтверждает эту мысль❤❤
Splendid and wonderful!
l inizio dell andantino e di una bellezza celestiale
yes, it's most serene, and it's typical for late Fauré that it inexorably moves towards great agitation.
Flawless.
Thank you very much!
Qué preciosidad. Divinidad pura.

Painfully fast performance but I thank you for the score animation
I was thinking the same but they do play as fast as the tempo written by Fauré
@@vincent-ataramanikothe first is Allegro ma non troppo. If we take that to mean crotchet = 120, this is much too fast

Can't find any of those. :(
I ended up listening to this whole piece,it is very beautiful!, Also, i have a question, have you listened to his requiem?
Well, of course, it's his most famous piece. :)
@@SPscorevideos what did you think of it?
@@MrSpyfelis I must admit that I initially disliked it, then I learnt how to appreciate it. :)
@@SPscorevideos What was your favorite part of his requiem?
Allegro MA NON TROPPO !
Indeed but he still wrote 160

Who is playing this?
As in description: Kathryn Stott, Christian Poltera, Priya Mitchell.

Is it written in dorian mode??
Well, being Fauré, this can have some modal moments, but it's essentially tonal, in D minor. :)
No it was written in France haha
@@MrSOLOPIANIST underrated
there is a ton of accidentals, especially in the unisono part of the andantino, so it's not just straight D minor...
