why does the captain and all the important officers have to go on these first-contact exploratory missions? in case something happens to them, aren't they too valuable for the ship to loose? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One thing that really bugged me are the first episodes and lack of the payoff from those, going to Krill Space and the dark areas, when they got that clearance, I hoped they would study new areas of space, but they skidaddle, understandably, after the virus-thing. It was just never mentioned afterwards and they just forgot that they need to explore new areas in Krill occupied territory they knew nothing of, you don't need to go to "no-fly" zone to have an interesting plot
My one regret with this show is that we'll never have a Gelatinous "Yaphit" species representative speak about the two reasons their species joined this "Union". To have intercourse in exchange for cash and to protect their rights as a Gelatinous species. He'll never get a chance to strongly disagree and eventually lament that, instead of standing up, he stood down when he heard about the atrocities of the Moclan Empire. Finally, this'a "Union" established regulations that the Gelatinous folk were to be forced to wash their private areas between missions. Their Private Areas! There's still a great distance to the ground after getting through the clouds, from which, on their way down, they'd be able to see the forest and how far it goes in every direction. Of course, I'm only making this observation from this recap, not the actual episode, so there might be something missing in the recap, something that was shown or explained in the show.

It would have been possible that the simulation started when the shuttle got close to the planet. The terrain might have been simulated all the way until the reveal.
Can any fans of the show tell me if it's worth sitting down and watching the whole show? I find with a lot of these recaps, the show just isn't worth it even if the recap is entertaining but I honestly can't gauge this one because it seems like the show is almost meant to be comedic but also serious, so I'm unsure if some of the enjoyment is lost due to not having the dialogue. I've never been a Star Trek fan either but this show seems a lot easier to just pick up for people with casual (random nerd culture lol) Star Trek knowledge compared to some others.
I had started watching this show from disney plus after discovering this show from movie recapped. Currently at episode 6 and I'd recommend if you want a sci-fi tv series to watch while chilling/eating! I really like the references the characters make towards our current "human world"
Absolutely. There is also a lot of comedy specially in season 1 and 2 that you are not seeing in these recaps. S3 is more serious and spectacular, but there is still some comedy there. Never been into Star Trek but I'm an Orville fan, watched the whole thing 3 times now (started when it came out in 2017) and now funny enough I started watching Star Trek TNG after this. I still prefer Orville though.

Well, I had interest in the video until the author used a trump reference for the villain speech. In our politics biden would have been a better choice. Trump didn't threaten his political opposition with criminalization as biden has done. Which has more similar characteristics to the storyline the villain has in this episode. In doing so it leaves myself with the conclusion that the author is of poor character and lacking integrity. And I can only hope that their not the fascist as biden and the rest of the Democrats are.
Kind of disappointed with third season tbh. They are trying so hard to be like TNG it was pretty hard to watch at times. Wasn’t bad mind you but definitely a step or two below the second.

The network that publishes these shows can really hold back the story because they have to be sure the show is successful.

Maybe so. The huge sheet of clouds seemed to cloak the full terrain of the planet though so it'd be hard to tell that from outside their atmosphere.
