It's ok, at least to me. It's great "bubble gum for the brain" or "brain popcorn". Something to listen to when I need a distraction and want to sit and knit for a while.
I wonder if they would still say that though. If I recall, I think many religions believe there is no life outside Earth. I remember the movie Paul, when the christian girl with the bad eye saw the alien and would not believe he was an alien. I feel like maybe if man kind did make first contact with aliens for real, that would invalidate any religion that believes we’re alone.
For some reason, this story reminds me of the time Julius Caesar was kidnapped by pirates. He spent the time exercising with them, sparring with them, and telling them how he was going to kill them all once he was let go. The pirates laughed him off but sure enough, after his ransom was paid, he returned with a fleet and killed (or enslaved, can't remember exactly) every single one of them.
the funny thing is government and widely adopted commercial tech (& those who use it) are so far behind that pretty much basic use and navigation that is second nature to younger generations is effectively hacking in practice 😅
@Scifiuniverse1 I have listened to many of these stories over the past several months. Yours had almost no issues with the ai read through. Good work. Either you found the better ai or you gave it better prompts. Either way, your editing is better than about 70% of the rest doing this. Also, this story was short and powerful. A power chord of entertainment. I enjoyed it all. Thanks for sharing.

This story requires a lot of suspension of belief to enjoy LOL. Way more so than any other I've heard in a long time. Not terrible story overall but my goodness I was chuckling at the absurdity of some of the story points
There `seems` to be a bit of a contradiction in logic in this one. Though, in fairness I may be missing something. We're so committed to our children, that we took a group of them, trained them, and stuck them in harms way to be bait for a trap, lead by a 12 year old. They couldn't find slightly older humans that look like children? Aside from that though, nicely written and flipping the stereo-typical paradigm of the weak human is always `satisfying` for lack of a better word.
Every hear of "The Boy Scouts"? Didn't do move and fire drills, but many of the badges are built upon basic military training... survival, cooking/maintenance with limited materials, first aid, marksmanship, etc, etc. Everyone knew that part of a fully functional adult included military ability in addition to civics, home maintenance, and other skills.

they probably should have looked at a quote in America's history back when they became tired of dealing with pirates. "Millions in defense before a cent in tribute" 11:49 and they should hear about something called Operation Praying Mantis, that shows an american proportional response
It seems a bit unrealistic the humans does a major reaction to kids being taken Yet the operation isnt focus around hostile rescue, you would think they would plan a covert operation to board and take back the kids before the enemy realize... THEN can focus on revenge

the end dint make much sense, i mean, they reaveld taht any humand child had an tracker and the base is a big trap, so everry pirate knew that, tehy wont fail for the same trick twice. They woud work out something to bypass iot since tehy knew they have trackers. Woudn be more smart to still hide it and let the pirats run in theri doom, so tehy wont find out and bypass the whole trap
I know this is intended to sound all cool and shit but it definitely sounds like they turn to child into a soldier. And I do believe even in modern society we understand that that is fucked up. Now tagging them with a tracker so you can find them as one thing but that does not seem to be what they did.
Digital naration is pretty good but the story exceeds my ability to suspend disbelief pretty hard. Everything the children do outside of activating tracking devices is absurd.
