Topa is so brave! She found her true self and I’m proud of her for that. Even though she’s a fictional character I think she’s brave. Plus, transgender people can relate to topa in some way, I think it’s cool that the creators made that!

Watch a few after another & tell me im wrong?!

Remember that Mercer had zero problems breaking temporal laws when it suits him. The Orville should have been destroyed in the dark matter storm and he does nothing to correct this. Kelly creating a religion based around her got a pass. Yet Mercer forces Malloy to lose his family and the genuine happiness he found to have his best friend back in the present. Such a kick to the gut. If anything they should have grabbed his family and brought them to the future or write Malloy off. This ending however just spits in the face of Malloy and resets the character to just the captain's friend.

I think is funny how this show can portrait a person who's into people of the same sex and is ok with sex-changing as a conservative and "old fashioned" person... and make it believable
The irony of this episode is that a lot of kids who were changed over because they were either born what used to be called Hermaphrodite these days is called intersex Mac in those days before that term was coined. The doctors would come out and ask what would you like a boy or a girl and if the parents had wanted a boy, they would change their sex right then and there to being a boy, that was not a possibility because sometimes, there was no genitalia that was visible enough. Let’s put it that way they would just look and see and assume that the person was a girl even if they were a boy the worst thing is a lot of these people when they hit puberty did not feel they were in the right body. It’s kind of like feeling your transsexual, but you’re not I remember one person saying that being a female when you know you’re a male makes you feel weird you don’t feel right within yourself much like Toppa describes it. I’m using voice to text, but for some reason it’s writing things a bit on the backwards site. I don’t know why there seems to be a bit of a problem with my phone at the moment. I suppose I am very lucky I was born looking very female, so they simply double checked with my father what he would have liked and he said a female he wanted a daughter and I’m thankful for that that it would’ve mattered much I’m a bit like the story of the general who was born a woman, but because at that time her certain part of her genitalia was more dominant, they assumed, or the father insisted that he wanted a son and so that’s what they told him he has a son and she was raised that way like me when she hit puberty, she produced more testosterone then estrogen, and they would give me shots to rebalance me at one point I was actually asked it might taking steroids because I was building muscle much like a guy does, but I have all the female parts as it turns out after receiving estrogen for a certain period of time, I would certainly have a period and my voice would go from being very tenor, like to being a soprano and other things to change as well I did not have problems as they predicted in having kids did I have to take medical means to do it you know IVF that sort of thing none of that didn’t have any of that, but there was a period of time when I wondered because of the fact that I did not produce those hormones on my own if perhaps it was meant to be born Mail and I had to think about it quite a lot. I remember I coming home from I was very young in college. I mean I started college at 16 and at the time I wasn’t 16 so this is before that but I had been using the college library and I was coming back and I was sitting on the bus and I asked myself if I have not been better off having my sex changed because obviously I’m not producing sufficient estrogen to keep me female. Maybe I was meant to be Mail I think like a guy I’m competitive like a guy and I’m built like a tank in many ways I’m very masculine, I have to ask myself the question would I be better served being male than being female and the answer to that for me was no, and it has more to do with the fact that I look at the human body as being an overcoat it’s what’s in the overcoat that matters I did not have a term for being asexual because that is what I am. I just knew that I didn’t see a point in becoming male because what would that do for me that I couldn’t accomplish as a female if the answer was sex then that didn’t matter to me because I wasn’t interested if it would mean that I’d be more comfortable in my body. I had grown used to the body I had so I couldn’t see the point I tried to think what it would be like to be a male life would be a lot easier because men have it really easy they don’t realize that, at least when I was growing up they had it a lot easier. Maybe it’s a bit different now but I just don’t see it like I said voice to text barely functioning right now properly and it’s certainly not putting my punctuation where I want it and I can’t correct it I don’t have, the use of both hands not even one hand.
