  • XK8 & XKR door anti rattle strips - replacement - from 1996 to 2005.
I replaced my worn out door anti-rattle strips on my 2004 XKR. I did this without removing the door cards.
I used this alternate method to save removing the door card and reduce the stress on the ageing and brittle plastic.
    I purchased the extrusion from
    www.martrim.co...
    Size B is the larger
    Size C is the smaller

Brilliant job and seems easier than going in and up through the door panel, I've had to remove my drivers door card because the lock actuator became clogged by sticky foam that was glued to the actuator assembly and has now degraded to a gungy mess!
Thank you for your reply regarding the steering wheel rake motor, sorry I didn't reply earlier but I felt so damn ill with covid.
I bought a used motor assembly from Auto reserve before I saw your reply and that is working fine, there's nowt wrong with the old motor just that piece of drive cable!
    Thanks very much,
    Jon

With regards the door, I've had a few BMW E46 and dropped doors on them was a common issue. The easy fix was a 3x2 piece of wood under the door and slowly shut it. Job done!

A little manual lifting by hand has fixed it. Great advise.

It was inspired from your video Damian. I was wondering of it was possible to do without removing the door panels - especially as I have only just fitted 2 that are not broken :). John.

I didn't either until Damian from the channel O&DR Modurol did a video on them a while ago. O lot just drop off but mine were still there although in poor condition.

I found one of these in my car glove compartment when I bought the car. Always wondered what it was. Thanks!!!

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm tackling my anti rattle strips right now and I've ordered strip C. I just wondered how they are working with the window sliding against the rubber strip? The originals are flocked, presumably to provide less resistance than rubber against glass.

Great timing again - was already the next job on my list to check these and the bottom guides. Please could you post a link to the smaller profile seal?

      @ccuk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I have put a link in the description for both seals. Size C is the smaller profile.

Hi John, how have your anti rattle strips held up? Is the smaller profile the way to go? Dave

Hi Dave. Both profiles are holding up well so far, although the car has not been driven much. I would stick with the smaller profile to keep it stock as they perform well.
