    What about high temperatures? I live in Arizona and was wondering if their is a to hot? Because are temperature gets to 118 outside and the metal building is extremely hot!

    SJ, I am planning the construction of my final home. Within 2 years, I will start on my metal building, a barn-doe-minium. I greatly appreciate the effort and excellent information that you pass along. I've learned a lot and still have a lot to learn. Thank you sir.

    Well damn, when the crew foamed my bus they used no heat and the high of the day was 34°f, 2-3 hours before sunset. Only taped off windows and back door, but left the side door open. That might explain why I only got 1 1/2" at most, in many cases much less.

    Great information. Important for future customers to know. Don't have wet surface. You don't want that foam to not stick and shrink.

    Why do you use that spray gun? Is it just used in easy spray jobs like one your doing or do you use it in all situations like crawlspace or slopedls on a tight attic.. I mean tuffer then normal areas. Sprays nice and all.. Just curious

    I couldn’t agree more with all of it. My biggest thing is if the weather isn’t right, I’ll wait for a better day as I’m pretty much never spraying 5 days a week anyway. And dry heat. I couldn’t tell you how many times in the beginning I’d show up to the job site and the owner would have turned a direct fire propane or diesel fuel heater on the day before or sooner to keep the building warmer in winter to “help” me out and everything is just soaking wet in there. Then I have to spend an entire day or more drying the building out so I can get it insulated in the short stretch of nice weather. Now days I tell them ahead of time, no heat or only dry heat ahead of time. And nobody has an indirect heater laying around so it’s space heaters and fans or nothing. Direct fired diesel fuel heaters will work when needed though if there is enough ventilation to remove the moisture that is created and you warm it slowly, so long as it isn’t a steel shed over night.

    • @SprayJones
      @SprayJones  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spoken from experience. We own our own heaters and will have the client take it for use. Helps avoid issues.

    Great video. Winter in Manitoba is a nightmare for spray foam. Lots of lost days. But way better to lose time than to do it and lost time and product. Best foam channel I’ve seen. Keep it up.

    So would you say it’s a good idea to start spraying around 1 in the afternoon so the entire structure has time to warm up?

    • @SprayJones
      @SprayJones  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes yes you have to because otherwise it would be a failure.
      However, that is a lot of time lost in the day unless you are going to explain that the crew will be starting later and the working well into the evening... So count your costs.
