    I've been having trouble with Wigle's geospatial mapping. I've walked around a neighborhood block and through it's alleyway in an effort to improve the accuracy of the mapping through triangulation. However, each of the access points remain tightly clustered at the point on the map where I first began scanning.
    Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

    KODY you are a charm 😎

  • @DDBAA24
    @DDBAA24 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for making my suggestion for a Wigle WiFi vid a reality Kody, you said your 150 in the world, props, this is one of the coolest tools in the box right now. Not only incredibly useful but aesthetically pleasing as well, because well who doesn't like playing with Google earth. If they're going to collect geo location/geo fencing data on us, may as well use it to our advantage right lol. Also getting this installed on a phone that we have physical access to allows us to put on our fed cap and fbi windbreaker for a sec and plot a pattern of life on the target device by accessing the data via the web application account. For the iOS guys out there you can still use this as a web application and view AP's that have been mapped and shared to the site via other users. Also I was reading this article a while back on null-byte site about ' SonicPi' which allowed iOS users to hack from their iDevices via Raspberry Pi watchdogs style.
    Wigle also has this cool API thats still in beta, but you can sign up as a beta tester/dev to use Wigle API in your own personal projects.. A nice app to use in concert with Wigle is Andro Dumper, which is a bruteforce tool of sorts that has a healthy database of vulnerable router models with some really useful features. It lets you verify the security of an AP, but it also lets you see all the passwords for all the WiFi networks that you've EVER connected to from your Android device.. Also 'router keygen' lets you select a network that you want to connect to, and preform a scan. Within about a min you'll have the password on your screen if its vulnerable & all goes well. Just copy and paste it in the WiFi configuration on your device and your in biz. Around 10:25 you start talking about hotspots this is also a cool way to find pirate boxes , and other various geo cache locations for anonymous file sharing & such IF they're broadcasting.
    Maybe you could do a video on 'SonicPi' for the iOS users out there because its a little confusing to get up and going. I'm not sure if the project is still supported but the website is still up. Thanks for another vid, I really feel like this channel sets the bar for others like it.

      Crunch allows you to generate wordlists

    • @haloskycrash
      @haloskycrash 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can just download wordlists. search "rockyou.txt" for example . That is the staple wordlist to use.

    • @louiem5985
      @louiem5985 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick S True I have used the rockyou.txt file but router now have 8 to 12 characters long. Some of the word in the file are lower then 8 characters. I just thought it would be good to give some people a way to create certain wordlist. I know for me I do a lot of pw-inspector command to set a min and max on a wordlist. Maybe finding a hashcat rules just for wifi hashes would be good.

    • @jackcarter1897
      @jackcarter1897 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Louie M I personally never try to crack WiFi passwords that have their default SSID. I’ve learned that 9/10 times, when someone has changed their SSID, they have changed their password too. It’s only with these type of networks that I will try to use a password list like rockyou to crack. Rockyou would never be able to crack a default routers password so for me it’s wasted time.
      In that case, I will search up passwords for that routers company. Ie. If it’s TALKTALK, I search up passwords for that router and see what others default passwords are like. In the case of TALKTALK, they use 8 characters, mostly random letters if not all letters, and all in capitals. So I just crunch to generate passwords that are 8 characters long and I give 5 random letters to do this. I keep trying these password lists each time generating 8 character passwords with 5 random letters to see if it will crack. This has worked for me.
      If that fails, to most obvious option from there to crack a difficult password is to perform an evil twin attack. For me an evil twin attack is the most effective way of getting a complicated password, it’s just a little too noisy and less ‘anonymous’.

    • @louiem5985
      @louiem5985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jackcarter1897 Thanks for the idea. Might have to look into that. For me a combine password files then clean them up. Since Im just testing my skills on cracking them with the SSID that people post online. Some times it's easy but other times takes much longer. Only if I had a hash rig then it would be much easier and faster.. Need to find me some good GPU but at a low cost.

    Am using Wigle for years and its just for fun nothing else, thing is if you scan from your house or car or any place and you have XX WiFi spots on that 1 place you cant really know where these WiFi spots are coming from, you will just see WiFi spots you can catch on that 1 staying place. Another problem is people are changing their WiFi names so over years you will have lots and lots of old WiFi spot names which are not used anymore. How can you use Wigle for anything? Well, you cant use it for anything its just map where you can see WiFi spots thats it. Some ppl are usingit just for fun to have their user ranking more (more WiFis you find you have higher ranking which gives you nothing), so its just for fun nothing else.

      Dewayne_21 Piru Minimum requirements now a days are i5 processor, 8 Gigs RAM, (SSD if available would help in performance) and if you want to learn hacking, you can install OS like Kali Linux, or any other Penetration testing OS which gives you good tools installed by default. And if you are installing don't make that OS as your primary OS. Keep your Windows 7 as is and install Virtual Machine software like VMware or Virtual Box and download Kali Linux ISO image from online and watch for procedure to install it. Hope this helps.

      Dewayne_21 Piru Environment in this case is the workplace or tools you setup for you to work on. Like to learn hacking you need set of tools and good platform to learn and make your trials. You can test and work on it. So this Virtual Machine software allows you to have one or more OS 's on your PC. Where as usually one computer has only one OS. So you can have another Operating System(OS) on your machine. To install Kali Linux for instance you have to have VMware or Virtual Box software. There is also another way to have two OS 's on ur PC using a procedure called Dual Boot (No need to do this just to let you know). So search for "install VMware on Windows 7" on TH-cam and follow the procedure. Next, search for "download and install Kali Linux on VMware" this will let you have your working environment ready.

      Indeed.
      Better to have more people who are aware of the problems instead of having the majority ignorant of it.
      In the former, more people can use it and counteract it.
      The latter, the most are ignorant and the few that know are the ones that take advantage of it.

    Constructive Criticism: Rewrite your intros to be shorter. Review sentence by sentence, and you will see that you place too many subjects in a sentence. If it has 3-4 commas, the sentence is getting long.
    Love your content; somtimes you lose me at the intro.
