I'm literally screaming. Thank you so much for posting this tutorial 😭, i need it so bad. i CANNOT for the life of me find one of these skirts to order. I found a Red one to go under it, but i need a white one to go over it to accomplish my pirate hottie bad ass dreams for Ren Faire. The one i ordered got here and its like mesh with loose velvet stamped on in the patter of roses. That sheit broke my heart when i opened it 😭. Horrible excuse for lace.
Edit: You are not insane for explaining how to cut the circle out using the salami method btw 😂😂😂

Hi, love this tutorial and watched it 504094398 times to try to achieve this lol. But, is it me or did you miss showing the part where you actually sewed the two pieces together and THEN sew the waistband? I am a bit confused. It seems you went from trying it on and saying it was two separate pieces to then sewing on the waistband? I'm a beginner so I could have missed it but I am very confused lol.

I pinned the two layers together when I tried them on and made sure everything was laying where I wanted it and just sewed both layers on the waistband at the same time. You can sew the two layers together first and then the waistband if that’s easier for you, just make sure if your fabric has stretch the stitch attaching the two layers is wide and doesn’t effect the stretch.

you do realise you can layer it with other pieces of clothing if you don't want it to look vulgar right? fashion is all about styling my dear. and upcycling is always wonderful

Vulgar? Did you fall here from the 1950s?
