I never thought of using a T-shirt for the measurements. I LOVE caftans. I love picking stuff up at second-hand stores to make them. I usually use sheets and curtains panels but I never dreamed of trying a tablecloth.

I love upcycling vintage tablecloths! They are gorgeous & can have amazing embroidery or lace details too ♻✂

I love this!! I was just looking at swimsuit coverups and the cheapest one that I found was 36 bucks, and it was a caftan!! I need to head out to the thrift stores this weekend. Thank you for this idea!!!

Your reindeer wristband is so cute! This turned out lovely. Too bad you can't leave it white. A good soak in washing soda could get out the stains. But if you need to dye, a darker color will be better, and still you will want to soak it in a washing soda first.

And the wrist sewing pin is so easy to make in minutes too! I've tried all of my vintage stain-busting techniques but unfortunately these ones are just too stubborn to remove.

I feel orange would be a good colour for your new kaftan and maybe a good colour to match your skin tone? I LOVE your energy and enthusiasm. I'm a recycle queen myself and recently bought myself a heavy-duty singer as a gift and tool to aid in my recycling adventures. I went to a free garage sale a few months ago and scored a lovely lace tablecloth and already knew what I wanted to do with it. I googled for a recipe and found your easy to follow and cheerful tutorial. Thanks for walking me through my next project. Have you considered using both the yellow and the orange for kind of a gradient effect?

Thanks so much! I still haven't dyed my caftan so I defintely think I'll try the gradient now! 😊

I have collected so many of these. I want to try making a pair of "bloomers" to wear under a doily and linen dress.

I'm working on a doily dress! Vintage textiles are the BEST for creating gorgeous garments 😀

I would love to see all the tablecloths tutorial. Could you also make one using a crochet doily bedcover, how to turn it into a top, I find it would be hard to hem. Thank you ❤

I don't currently have a crocheted bed cover in my stash but here's my tutorial for creating a top out of vintage doilies: th-cam.com/video/YjyW6pZMRX4/w-d-xo.html and how I upcycled a crocheted quilt into a groovy sweater: bit.ly/3gL6QIx
