I see you are from Maersk tankers. If I am not wrong. But very informative video sir. Will be useful in practical aspect and as well as in orals. Thank you sir.
Anchor aweigh is when it leaves the ground. You can only estimate that in deep waters, in shallow waters, you may see mud, bubbles etc. And you must report sighted and clear, that is a green light for master to start moving.
There is another video on anchoring at management level. In that I have mentioned that windlass is not designed for excessive load.... Hence reporting should be proper and there should be a headway while anchoring to avoid excessive load.
Twist is created when the vessel turns while at Anchor. The swivel turn while the anchor was on the sea bed, causing the twist. Or it could because of the piling up of Anchor chain over Anchor when lowering. Sometimes it doesn't fall of the inertia required to move the anchor is more the weight of the anchor. It can happen due to stuck brake, excessive rust on gypsy wheel etc
It is for the master to get a real time information about the anchor position wrt ship. Using this info, the master uses the engine and moves, ahead astern or sideways. I hope this helps
keep up the good work sir really appreciated the effort

How will you check the no of shackles in letting go process of anchoring. When it will lower very fast
You would have to guess it by experience. Usually the joining shackle is color coded, that helps if one observes carefully.
@@oralexammmdprep8110 thank you sir
Sir how to know anchor is aweigh? and do we have to report anchor clear after we sight the anchor above the water lever?
Anchor aweigh is when it leaves the ground. You can only estimate that in deep waters, in shallow waters, you may see mud, bubbles etc. And you must report sighted and clear, that is a green light for master to start moving.
I kindly request to you that what are tips for prevention of loss of anchor and loss of anchor chain.

Why does the chain sometimes get twisted and why sometimes the anchor doesn.t drop when using gravity?
