I cannot express it in the right words, but I feel only: THANKS! Sorry that it seems, that many younger germans don't think about this. But they don't know much about that.

Elvis Presley was the man that all of us little girls fell in love with first. I wasn't but 5yrs old when I watched this movie with stars in my eyes. It wasn't just his beautiful face, gorgeous voice, or adorable personality...He had everything ❤
I am 80 and discovered Elvis in 1955 on the Louisiana Hayride radio show. I bought his first early records before I had a record player and borrowed my sister machine. The I saved up from my paper route and bought an RCA 45 automatic changer record player the 6EY-3. It was a suit case style machine. In 1956 Elvis put on a show at the West Philadelphia Area. My grand dad got me tickets for Kathy , my sweetheart and I . We took the train and the El into the city. It was great to see him live but all those screaming teenage girls ruined it for me. The acoustics were terrible. Fortunately I was lucky to be chosen to meet and greet Elvis back stage that afternoon. The TV show Bandstand was right next door to the Arena theater. I also met Dick Clark and his wife in the audience in seats next to us. He is the one that got us backstage for photos and the meeting. Kathy’s head was swooning that day. Its a day Ill never forget! Kathy and Elvis are gone now and I am all alone with the music.

Me & girlfriends were supposed to go to church, but we hung.out at soda shops& played Elvis on jukebox with quarters for church.!! Lived in NJ then, & went to Banstand several times, was abt. '57-8, before it went nationwide, we all rushed home from scoolto watch ,& a very popular couple was Justine & Bill , was it ? I sorta looked like her, back then !. Those were good innocent times, be a teen .. no phones attached to our butts! & & ridiculous , violent video games !!
My mother was a first generation German WW2 bride. I was 6 years old when this song became popular in the USA. My mother had the "record" and played it over and over again. I still have the original 45 rpm record and treasure it dearly. This is one of my favorite songs from my past and love it dearly. I learned all the lyrics in German when I was a kid.

Nice memories When i was 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old in 1961/62 my Granma turned often my uncles, he was absent because of german military service, Musicbox on for me , ten Single stacked above each other with Harry belafonte, Jonny Horton Nort to alaska , Jonny Cash and Elvis with muss i denn, then i stand in front of the box and one single was played after another, i was so fascinated by the light inside the Box, the turning Single and the magic music altho later hooked by CCR, Ted nugget, Pink Floyd , Dire Straits, Steely dan ect., but i never lost my love for 50/60s music and Rockn Roll.
I went to see this when it first came out and have to say this was one of his better films, this particular song rose to number one in the British Charts and did very much the same all over the world. Although it is 62 yrs old it is a much loved and remembered film amongst his legions of fans
My favorite although I was born in 69, my dad raised me on Elvis. Even letting me stay up until 3am when I was 6 so I could watch Jailhouse Rock back when we had three channels. 😂
I remember seeing it on one of the only two networks we had (CBS or NBC) back in the early 70's. They used to have Friday night at the movies or something similar to that name cant remember. This was my favorite clip from any Elvis movie, Speedway was my favorite due to my crush on Nancy Sinatra and Flaming Star of course was up there as well.

If he gotten Star is Born, been a big difference, but th Col nixed it bc. B Streisand got top billing, Col only wanted what made money , & all his films were successful money makers.

Watched Elvis movies as a kid and am watching them again at this age and still enjoying them. These fun filled films were just the kind stuff everone liked. Wooden heart song was choreographed beautifully Elvis will live on forever in our hearts, over which he held sway ,like king over his subjects .

@@waybee100 My draft lottery number came up as #17 so I quickly joined the USCG to avoid Viet Nam. They sent me to do Search and Rescue in Galveston Texas. Very glad I did that and so were my family and girlfrend (at that time and who I am still married to). ;-)

Peter K. I used to work with a fella who had done his National Service in the British Army when Elvis was doing his with the US Army. My workmate had been stationed quite near Friedberg when Elvis arrived to do his duty there. He said the Soviets missed a great opportunity to invade, because German chicks had besieged his barracks and nothing could get in or out for days on end!
This was played in Germany when I was a child. I've lived in Australia since 1969 (I was born in Germany in 1960) and this song takes me back.... What we'd call a timeless classic, no?
I lived around the corner from the local movie theater in 1961. I was 6 and I would watch movies not really knowing what they were gonna be about but this day they were showing G.I.Blues. When Elvis came out and sang I couldn’t get the smile off my face. I was mesmerized by him. It was like an awakening from being 6 yrs old.
I saw this when I was 8. I’m now 44 and I’ve had this song pop in and out of my head ever since. I could not remember the words, just the tune! I literally hummed it into my song finder app and here I am all these years later. Elvis made such an impression in my life. So happy I found this!

I saw this movie in 2010 on television on VH1 channel here from India. I just loves this song and I feels pleasent and happy by watching and listening this song and yes this song is my most favourite of this movie. It is beautifully cute song.Thanks.

and stood at the entrance-gates of the old "RAY-BARRACKS",where the King had his
army-home from 1958-60....really moving......
Peter K. I used to work with a fella who had done his National Service in the British Army when Elvis was doing his with the US Army. My workmate had been stationed quite near Friedberg when Elvis arrived to do his duty there.
He said the Soviets missed a great opportunity to invade, because German chicks had besieged his barracks and nothing could get in or out for days on end!

I lived around the corner from the local movie theater in 1961. I was 6 and I would watch movies not really knowing what they were gonna be about but this day they were showing G.I.Blues. When Elvis came out and sang I couldn’t get the smile off my face. I was mesmerized by him. It was like an awakening from being 6 yrs old.
I saw this when I was 8. I’m now 44 and I’ve had this song pop in and out of my head ever since. I could not remember the words, just the tune! I literally hummed it into my song finder app and here I am all these years later. Elvis made such an impression in my life. So happy I found this!
