I really enjoyed the book as well. It was interesting because I'd seen the movie a million times before it. The book still managed to be original to me. I didn't imagine Al Pacino as Michael or Marlon Brando as the Don. It felt like its own separate thing to me.
@TwoScoopsXD That's great! I watched the movies after reading the book but I was able to enjoy the movies. Knowing that Mario Puzo wrote both the books and the script is incredible. Thanks for watching the video! 🙂
Good video, I want to read the books soon but I can really recommend the movies of The Godfather. Yesterday I watched the first movie, today the second and tomorrow the last movie. Did you say there are four books out there??? Down The Godfather, The Sicilian and The Last Don. If I may give you a compliment... You have beautiful hair
@Countravendark Thank you so much for watching this video, for your kind words, and for subscribing! 😊 Since I posted this video, I started reading The Sicilian earlier this Spring but didn't finish it. At the time, I was traveling and decided to put it on hold and never really went back to it (although I will sometime in the future). I'll say though that it is not exactly a continuation of the first book. The events in The Sicilian take place when Michael is hiding in Sicily and even though Michael is one of the main characters, the story also focuses on a new main character. Anyway, after learning that the movies were scripted by Mario Puzo himself, I decided to watch all three movies. I loved them all. Especially, the ending of the last one. I hope you enjoy the last one. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. The first movie is fully based on the first book but the second and third movies don't align with the books. And yes, I think there are five books in The Godfather series but only the first two are written by Mario Puzo. Thanks again! 💛
@@enchantedbookendz You are more than welcome, thx for your reply, you make me very curious about the books. At the moment I am reading Krampus The Yule Lord by Brom (a true recordation!!!!) . I was in fact reading The Chronicles Of Narnia but took a break from it. Fact is I have Krampus two years in my collection and wanted t read it during the Christmas period but never got the upertunity to do so .This weekend I watched the first two movies and I think that I will watch the last one this evening or tomorrow. I liked them both very much. I liked the part in the second movie where you can see parts of Don Vito Corleone's childhood. The Godfather is truly THE best American movie ever made!!! Thx again for your sweet reply.
Hi! I found nothing in the book that was degrading to Italians. Mario Puzo himself was a son of Italian immigrants and in this fictional book he has created a "mythical culture" of the Italian American organized crime groups. There is nothing that attacks or degrades the lovely Italian culture or Italians. I have read many books, and I must say that his writing style is unique and effective. The character developments and plot both are extraordinary. It is truly a masterpiece. I found it very entertaining and in no way did I generalize anything in the book with "all Italians". I hope you give this book a try!

But I heard the book was degrading to Italians? And written below average style
