Anant Mishra talks about the current security and political situation in Afghanistan. Anant Mishra is a Visiting Fellow at the International Centre for Policing and Security, University of South Wales.
In this session, Anant Mishra discusses the capacity of the security forces to control the territory, the Islamic State Khorasan Province, and the division within the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Mr Mishra believes that when it comes to the current security situation in Afghanistan, a reduction of attacks by the ISIS-K is predicted during the first half of 2024. On the political level, the supreme leader and his inner circle will continue to rule Afghanistan from their stronghold in Kandahar.
