- President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai gives his speech on the state of Afghanistan.

Hamid Karzai speaks freedom of the press, Education system is much better than 10 years ago with exchange programs and grants for sending students overseas. President Karzai highlights that after many years of turmoil Afghanistan is now a country for all walks of life to be free.
He admits that the area of which Afghanistan is not happy with is security, going on to say that NATO and the USA did not strategise it's approach the way they wanted them to. Bombing villages and conducting night raids was wrong. Terrorism is not found in Afghan homes but elsewhere. All the Afghan people desire is peace in the region. 2014 marks the departure of foreign forces and the first election in Afghanistan that will be conducted independent of any outside help. He speaks of the bi-lateral security agreement (BSA) where a grand council of around 3000 people from all walks of life will consider all points of the agreement that will then be handed over to the United States. Hopefully then the USA will respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan and stop killing innocent civilians in efforts to find terror suspects.
In conclusion Hamid Karzai states that the Afghanistan of tomorrow will be one tourists want to visit and a nation that will be less of a burden on the international community.

the 1st time i met an afghanistani was in mecca when i was on piligramage. i was touched and will never forget this old man's face marked with the over 30 years war with the russians etc. i pray karzai will bring peace to this country. Allah bless the afghanistanis

He said so himself - Afghanistan is a country rich in resources - which is why the Americans and the American Army is building a massive compound to keep their "American Interests" at the heart of that country. What we should be all asking and demanding - "What's in Afghanistan's and their peoples interests?". That's what the Russian's asked in the 80's - that's not what the Yankees are asking now - but rather "What's in the USA's interests?". Down with Yankee selfishness! Free Afghanistan!

opium production doing very well upi from 187 tons a year to nearly 5 thousand tons so you see we are doing very well...and not one person pins him down on this.... are the usa interested in the welfare of the people of afganistan of course not but there sure are a lot of resources and how about the caspian pipeline ...wake up people..

It was obviously a great speech indeed, but definitely, it doesn't mean he was a great leader of my country. he was so smart to betray his people rather than lead them towards a bright future.
ok, so let's say taliban was off... but they made the opium decrease from 10% production.. to 6.. then 911.. now 90% of opium is produced there.. they used to grow Saffron there in many quantities. idk what's going on really but afganistan and iraq are not the same.

I'm sorry, I commented before i even got to the first 4 mins. this guy is worthless... the "problem was able to "fix" itself without any intervention... nobody in pakistan or afganist sees it as a "liberation"... but i will continue listening to the diversions of history and fact.. if you claim you are an intelligent individual then you must prove it yourself before the others. seek the facts.
