I remember when it was rumored that Charli was going to feature Madonna in this song back in '86. During an MTV interview it was revealed that Charli passed on Madonna and pick small German artist, Kimberly Petras. Madonna ever since viewed Charli as competition and a threat

I am from germany and my grandma ones told me that she was a big fan of young Kim back then. She was a star of the ZDF Hit Parade, a big music platform on tv in the 70s and 80s. She was also friended with Nena and it was rumoured that they will collaborate someday. Such a pity this never happened. Therefore Charli took this opportunity. Legendary Song of this time.
