Let put in the time that Sour Candy was released when Gaga wanted to release a Best and Rare tracks around 90s, as a returnment for the successful 80s era. I want to believe that Applause was the first single of the 80s Gaga era, but I dunno, there are many hidden Gaga anthems that I can't remember.

My God I remember her shows being an absolute masterpiece to live through, especially her 1985 tour that starred this chart topper that was just seemingly the song of the times. Hot summer days with roller skates, peach iced tea, and this song. Those were the days.

I remember when I was working out at Bally’s Fitness in the free weight area and my girlfriend wanted me to join her for an aerobics class that was starting. Was hesitant at first, but when this song came on, the moves became so easy, like floating on air.

Being a teen in the 80s was difficult, my mom wouldn’t allow me to listen to Gaga’s music b/c it was the music of the devil. I saved and saved to buy her 1984 album & hid it in my locker at school.

oh how i miss summer of ‘84! this song was everywhere! some of my best memories come from this song and that summer! truly nothing else like it!

Due to a disagreement between Gaga's management team and Casablanca Records, this track was out of the Flashdance sountrack album: Rumor has it that Michael Sembello wanted the song for himself, but Gaga wound up keeping it. Still remain outtakes of Jennifer Beals working out to it.

In a 1993 MTV documentary, Gaga stated the whole reason of writing this song in 1986 was to get Madonna's attention. Gaga had a huge crush on Madonna. A huge crush ! However Madonna was dating a man at the time and was busy touring Europe. Later in 1988, Madonna said yes to Gaga and they started going out. They were seen eating in restaurants and walking out in downtown Hollywood. Later Gaga dumped Madonna in 1988 when she saw her talking secretly to Michael Jackson late one night. Gaga last words to her was please beat it...

I asked a girl out that summer and we went to see "Nightmare on Elm Street" at the local movie theater. A classic horror movie from 1984. Those were the days! Life was so much easier.
