I don't want to be that guy who backseats, but once you have become the lost by touching jacob, there is no downside to killing him, and he explodes the current room for you. I hope that helps.
Too bad I missed the stream :( also, one of the main things about dark Jacob is that you can "leash" T. Esau in a strategic point, position yourself and then press the Anima Sola button again to purposely release him in the direction you want (towards enemies etc). Also also, you can steal deal with the devil items as ghost Jacob
You can use the eraser to permanently kill isau after damaging him a bit. Also the cleaver has an interaction that can get rid of isau for the rest of the floor. Hope this helps
