    I will say this, it was a great video and all very thorough. But as you do more of this stuff you'll just instinctively know things like you're definitely should have went ahead and put a new water pump preferably a high flow. Because as you saw it's a monster to get to it so why you had it apart $150 part will probably save you a lot of work in the future. Mine's actually getting ready to go back in the car I basically just went through the whole motor had a bunch of machine worked on the block had the heads going through. And like you did much easier for the money to let machine shop clean it and put the valve springs and everything in. But anyway not knocking your video or anything it's cool and you did good job I would just like to hear/see the actual outcome of the cam.

    Yeah I used a similar cam to the 501. But I went with 1.6 rockers just to get some extra lift. I think mine was the 08-302-8.

      We tune the car right in our garage with the distributor. I’m putting a new exhaust on the car soon to make it louder. Hopefully a video coming in the next couple weeks

      Sounds good, i thought you burned the chip and reprogrammed. I need to find the software and learn the way to reprogram my 91s chip after my mods.

    Hey did we miss a video somewhere? LOL went from getting ready to put the cam in to backing it out of the driveway. Obviously the weather has been a lot warmer and now fixing to get cold again. Just wondering what's up? Or maybe I just missed something all together somewhere. Which wouldn't be the first time LOL

      Sorry I’m getting back to this so late. I remember we were having problems with the oil pan seal gasket under the timing cover. I stopped filming around then because we were trying to figure it out.

      How low? My l98 got a rear main leak and i have to check it periodically but it usually stops leaking between add and full, but sometimes I'll check it and its on add. Funnily enough I had some rear main stop leak in oil treatment and I put that in last oil change and it stayed slightly over filled and super clean for a long while.

    What year c4? What did you have to do to put different Vette wheels on it? Thx

    • @apprenticeautomotive
      @apprenticeautomotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a 1988 Corvette, the wheels on the car are C5 wheels and they just fit right on with no modifications.

      Hey man I appreciate you checking out the channel, I went with the 501 Comp cam as well as Beehive valve springs, seals and retainers. Depending on the condition of your lifters it’s always good to replace those as well but if they’re in good condition it is not a necessity. I’m still on stock rockers as well. One thing I would suggest is getting the Aluminum heads professionally cleaned and checked for warping. You could go a step further and get a comp valve job too! If you want any part numbers or want any other information let me know.

      Sounds good, thanks man, could you please send me the part numbers for all the parts and where u ordered them from, thanks again 😎🔥💯

    • @apprenticeautomotive
      @apprenticeautomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So unfortunately as of right now I can’t find my part number for my valve springs or retainers, I will continue to look, my cam is a Comp Cam #08-501-8, stock rockers, stock push rods, stock lifters. I got everything from JEGS, if you call them they can match the cam to the same valve springs and retainers, they were very helpful over the phone with me.
