I could listen to Jermey sing ANYTHING! He has such a big and impressive voice but I LOVED how he showed us a more sensitive and subtle side of his voice with that effortless feeling in the beginning and end 💯thanks for the react!!
I really really REALLY love it when people who sing this song angrily shout out "GETS" for "when she's bruised and GETS used". I know the climax of the song is really a little bit past that, but that's the moment that I always start crying and it hits the emotional crux for me. AND HE DOES IT ALL SO SO SO WELL.
Have you ever seen his It's All Coming Back To Me Now???? I mean, that video is my religion. Is incredible. It just takes you to another dimension cause the TALENT jeremy has - I can't even
1. No one could ever get tired of this song please do more 2. Please react to Ben Platt (I would say Words Fail from DEH or something from his solo album perhaps?)
@Millie Lach well I’ve watched a lot more than three times and that feeling certainly had not gone away. I don’t know if it ever will, but I’m not conplaining
His cover made me think oft a new story for the song: A man loses his wife who was pregnant and the baby survived. He doesn't want the baby at first, all he wants is his wife back. This is basically this song. Oh and he could be a baker ( I'm not a native speaker so sorry for my bad grammar)
I always imagined it like it’s almost Waitress but Earl isn’t abusive, he’s a wonderful husband to Jenna but then she dies or leaves him with the baby 😿
I would LOVE a series of you reacting to various versions of she used to be mine!! Mariah Rose Faith's, Carrie Hope Fletcher's, and Sara Bareilles's are all really good and I'd love to see how you'd react to them!!
Jeremy Jordan has a fantastic voice and he's really good actor, but I find his "She Used to Be Mine" just a tad too studied and over-egged for my taste. Jessie Mueller and Alison Luff perform two of the best versions. But the one that's stayed with me ever since I first heard it is this one by Adrian Matthew: th-cam.com/video/25q37oqoa5s/w-d-xo.html There's a simple honesty in this kid's singing that just gets into your heart and starts doing damage. Can we also talk about his supreme volume control like when he uses it for style/affect? Like there are points his signature vibrato comes out louder and it like really makes a difference.
There are exactly three musical/theatre songs I listen to, when I am sad: 1. Monster (Frozen) 2. She used to be mine (Waitress) 3. I‘m not that girl (Wicked) Since I always listen to these songs, when I’m sad, I just opened a can of buried Emotions. I for sure cried.
'Burn' and 'It's quiet uptown' from Hamilton and 'Waving through a Window' and "You will be Found' from Dear Evan Hansen ALWAYS GET ME (add them to your list four years later lol)
Jeremy's performance here made me feel like I was him in all the moments he was singing about and it was gut-wrenching...every time he sings the second "she is messy, but she's kind" in that out of breath, voice-catching way, it makes my heart ache so bad, my mouth instantly pouts and my head tilts fully on the verge of crying every. damn. time.
I first heard Jeremy Jordan when he voiced the character of Varian in Tangled the series. I fell in love with his singing voice just there and the more I learned, the more I was captivated. This man is an amazing singer and I want to listen to anything he sings ! I'm glad to see it's not only my case XD
You should listen to Jeremy Jordan singing as Varian in Tangled the series! (Particularly "let me make you proud" and "ready as I'll ever be") pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
Why am I crying? Seriously, Jeremy Jordan stole my heart, broke it and then mailed the broken pieces back to me. And I'm okay with that. Such a powerful performance. Stunning.
I totally agree with you on the storytelling. Jeremy understands more than anyone else I have ever seen in the industry, that singing is so much more than just being a vocalist, it's telling a story with the inflection in your voice and the vocal cry and vibrato and facial expressions and body movements and where you choose to take your breath and 100 other things. This is why he is so captivating. The lyrics come alive when he is performing. Other people just sing the lyrics. Most people just worry about hitting the right notes and perfect pitch and he worries about delivering the message the lyrics are telling and trying to make the audience feel the emotions the author was feeling.
Could you review one of Jeremy Jordans singing roles from Tangled the Series? And please PLEASE look into "Waiting in the Wings" from Tangled the Series, its sung by broadway singer Eden Espinosa, who also played Elohaba on broadway. Would love to hear your opinion on those songs! Love your videos!
If I could perform this song even an inkling as effortlessly as Jeremy Jordan could, I would feel so lucky. I love this performance so much and it gives me goosebumps every single time. Also, highly recommend you listen to Alison Luft’s take on the song. It’s so good. There is a performance that is more legal that you can react to but the ones done on stage during the show are absolutely magical. Of course, most people wouldn’t (really, shouldn’t, technically, but some still do) share videos with broadway “slime tutorials” featured, so I understand if you choose not to do so. But I recommend still listening to those and watching them at least and talking about them!
