    When updating my system, I have found that typing 'y' or 'Y' to confirm an install isn't necessarily required. All that is needed is to press the enter key if you want to accept and proceed, I rarely if ever hear this being told in these videos but it works.

      How this works is. When you see [y/n] to confirm whichever on is capitalised is the default answer. So if it is [Y/n] just pressing enter = Y. If its [y/N] just pressing enter = N.

      @@tehmonkey9800 See, it works just as I said. Thanks for the confirmation.

    I need help understanding the update part! It seems not to update anything but just tells me, "5 packages can be upgraded. Run 'apt list --upgradable' to see them."? Do you get any updates if you stop at this after getting that massage?

    • @dinkaboutit4228
      @dinkaboutit4228 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "sudo apt-get update" downloads the latest versions of your selected repositories (there are some selected by default on a new install) always do that first. If it says that you have upgradable packages, then run "sudo apt upgrade" that will cause the updates that your computer found to be installed.

      No because I use it on Debian Xfce too. Boot up is quicker.

      Unless you have multiple distros installed, or you're dual booting with Windows, it generally isn't a problem. Otherwise it's advised to set it to a non-zero number so you have the time to choose the OS you want to boot in.

    You closed the timeshift window before you configured the snapshot schedule. In other words, you didn't enable the snapshots. Otherwise, I like the video. Good job.

    what a waste of time video, no essential things except one or two, every thing is your personal apps for usage.
