What a beautiful day you start to drift off with the tempo of the river then are rudely awaken by a salmon almost pumping up your heart rate. Great to watch you fishing. Thank you.
Thank you Colin I did enjoy that day with Orn and my angling buddies I hope to get invited back next year. as its very difficult to get fishing on Easter Elchies its usually booked by the same anglers year after year. Cheers Iain. 🥃
Eventful day Ian. Nice to see fish in the River and get the old adrenaline pumping. The usual "one that got away" but you made up for it . Many thanks and keep us dreaming of catching Scottish salmon. Cheers
I could have extended the video by another half-hour if I showed all the salmon that were splashing about Christopher. the pools seem to hold a lot of fish and I will look forward to having some time there in the future Cheers Iain. 🥃
It was a great day with good company Andrew it's not the end of the world losing a fish when you have the opportunity to fish in a location like that Cheers Iain. 🥃
Its trick photography Brian the camera does a lot to make the distance look greater. we were unfortunate that it rain further upstream and by the end of day two the river was up around 8 to10 inches........ But still had a bit of exictement 🎣 Cheers Iain. 🥃
Hi Dave you have it all wrong it was a pice of luck that I stumbled onto a button that joined the two clips together all I had to do was line them up so the sound from both matched up I am better at being lucky than good thanks again I may try a few other buttons sometime in the future Cheers Iain. 🥃
Thanks for watching I think we had earned our dinner when we got back to our accommodation we had a Chinese take away and that finished us off nicely Cheers Iain 🥃
Good to actually see you Iain! Lovely looking water, though it wasn't easy watching you having to scramble back for that net. What a place to leave it! As ever, you never find fault. I'd have been annoyed to lose a fish like that!
Hi again Jon. I should have paid more attention I walked pass the net without seeing it . Orn never did it on purpose and there aren't many that would give permission to leave something like that in a video. He did look after us well and it was the only thing that went wrong. I had the best out of the fish and it would have gone back anyway. I think if you were there on the day I don't think that you would have been that annoyed All the very best. Cheers Iain. 🥃 PS. you can't really see me for the hair and the sunglasses 😜
John I do think that I am lucky to have met so many great anglers that I have got on with and seem to get a phone call now and again inviting me to join a party to make up numbers Cheers Iain. 🥃
Great Iain, I have been fortunate to fish there for a week in June for the last 25 years, most of those years with the legendary John Coutts, whom I know you knew. We have had some great catches there over the years, best week was 60 odds about 15 years ago, and have always caught fish, but just less and less. Orn's a great pal and hopefully he looked after you well......
Hi Brian. it's been a while since we met I don't think you remember that I looked after a few of your vehicles when they fell apart ( Bently and the Range Rover ). back in the days when I used to work Orn looked after us well and I asked his permission to add the content to this video and he told me he wouldn't have a problem with that or I would have edited a lot of it out . He is a gentleman and did his best to help us enjoy our visit and hopefully we will get invited to fish the same three days next year all the best and tight lines. Cheers Iain. 🥃
There are so many anglers that would love a cast on that beat Paddy I was extremely fortunate that one of the other guys had to drop out because of work commitments and Bill gave me the opportunity to join them Cheers Iain. 🥃
Lovely bright chrome grilse you had there Iain, very nice bit of water and fish showing, if reluctant to take the fly sometimes, frustrating I know but the main thing is You enjoyed the day, well done cheers Peter.
It has been a bit like that this year Peter and when I have hooked fish a lot of them have been very lightly hooked and lucky mohave landed them Cheers Iain. 🥃
Well done Iain, so good to see healthy fish are still around. A lot of depressing news currently about both wild salmon stocks reducing and quality of farm reared salmon deteriorating, and a correlation between both due to sea lice proliferation. Nick from York
I think this year has seen a lot more fish in most of our river systems Nick and far fewer fish with the red belly and red vent disease that has spread from the escape farmed salmon we can only hope that the fish in the rivers spawn without any great floods Cheers Iain. 🥃
There are so many great distilleries in the area Marcel and I hope that on your trip that you managed to get a few visits . I had another great day at the river Cheers Iain. 🥃
After I opened my eyes I found it but alas it was too late. experiences like that are part of life's rich tapestry and what a fun day to remember. If it wasn't for Orn allowing me to share it on youtube it would only be in my memory bank Cheers Iain. 🥃
A great day at the river Robert I couldn't have imagined getting the chance to fish this beat. what a perfect day out with great company Cheers Iain. 🥃
I had the best of the fun and still had two and a half days to fish there after loosing the fish. there is always another fish hiding in the water . Cheers Iain. 🥃
A good day, interesting ghillie…didn’t check water temp (until you asked him), didn’t move net which cost you first fish, and a deaf Labrador…hope you didn’t go mad with his tip!!😅
It was a great day Paul and all the things that went right outweighed the small things that went wrong I have lost a lot of fish through my own stupidity how can I blame Orin for one small laps. he looked after us well and I had no complaints . Without him I probably would have blanked the following day 😜🎣. Cheers Iain. 🥃
its a Rio Outbound Austin. its an eight weight that has lost a bit at the end when a sheep ate it . It now suits my seven weight rod and I have a ten foot polly tip just to make the presentation a bit less splashy Cheers Iain. 🥃
Nice video but my God that would've really annoyed me that dog while I was trying to get a fish in. Why folk presume you'll be fine with THEIR dog that they know messing about beside you is beyond me. Also whatever he said it did what it wanted so you're absolutely helpless to stop it yourself! By all means have a dog as a pet and bring it with you but if you can't control the thing and it doesn't obey you, get it on a lead for petes sake . I've never had a dog and I've had a couple of bad experiences and been bitten twice by the "och he won't touch you" brigade- aye he won't, IF he's under control!
Hi Fraser I don't mind dogs I am one of those guys that dogs seem to know they are safe with me. I have never had to bight one yet. It's strange that dogs that go to the river with their owners all seem to get exited and they know when a fish is hooked. I had a good friend years ago that had a dog that walked in front of him and went a step forward staring at the water every time he had a cast on the odd occasions that he caught a fish I never new who got the most exited and even the best behaved dogs are like that . Only a week or so ago I tailed a fish for an other friend and his dog watched shaking like a leave. I am sorry that you have been bitten and I think that you are unfortunate to have come across dogs like that All the best Cheers Iain. 🥃
I like to try and just get the fishes head up and if possible unhook and get them back into the water without handling. I know this doesn't happen much but that's what I try for Cheers Iain. 🥃
Hi Alan the first rod that I had difficulty with is an old 12ft seven weight hardy demond and the more power full rod is a sage 12ft 9in rated for a 9 weight They are both rods that I have owned for a number of years. I take them on just about every trip Cheers Iain. 🥃
You need to take a break from working Brian and have a holiday ...... I could recommend Scotland you might enjoy it that much you may move Its worth thinking about. Scottish people on the whole are welcoming Cheers Iain. 🥃
@ I was actually in Scotland for a golf trip back in August. We made our way up to the Highlands, which were spectacular. I would happily go back any time. Cheers!
What a beautiful day you start to drift off with the tempo of the river then are rudely awaken by a salmon almost pumping up your heart rate. Great to watch you fishing. Thank you.
Thank you Robin I am truly blest that I have the opportunity to fish in so many great locations and with great companions
Cheers Iain 🥃
Great film, lots of smiles, indeed. Great shots at 4:40 and on. Happy Samhain! 👻
Thanks Mike I certainly enjoyed my day and went back tired but still looked forward to the next day
Cheers Iain. 🥃
Another excellent film. What a beat.
Thank you Colin I did enjoy that day with Orn and my angling buddies I hope to get invited back next year. as its very difficult to get fishing on Easter Elchies its usually booked by the same anglers year after year. Cheers Iain. 🥃

You can punch a line out Iain, always a pleasure to watch.. beautiful weather and river.. well done Iain

That was a great double screen of the fight Ian. Your so handy at all that technology, really nice water,

@@IainSB Maybe not Iain. I hope he doesn't leave it so far from the river next time!! As you say, you'd had all the sport anyway so no harm done.
Nice fish looks a lovely bit of water to fish.
It was my first time fishing on the beat James and I hope Orn lets me fish again next year editing day two 👌
Cheers Iain. 🥃
What a lovely piece of water Iain you get to fish some brilliant locations m8
