After 2ish years of watching your videos I finally gave in and bought a pig. It definitely does exactly what you’d expect a pig to do. The only thing that surprised me was how well I can forehand the pig. It goes about 20 feet farther forehand than all the other approach discs I’ve tried. I feel like I can make it do exactly what I want, and stick exactly where I want. Thank you for contributing to my future pig endeavors 😂 I put it straight in the bag after giving it a toss.
A somewhat underrated disc that I always keep in the bag is the Viking cosmos. First disc I ever aced with. Think it’s a very good starter disc as well to help with teaching newer players some angle control in the 7 speed slot.
My base plastic os disc is the tactic as you mentioned right at the end. I got a RC3 as os, new exo hard for straight to stable, and a beat to heck exo hard as my precious child.
Glad the elbow is coming along well, Robbie!! I carry a Jawbreaker Zone and a Star Toro, and love both! The JB Zone; the harder you throw it, the straighter it goes. I need to get a backup and beat that in!! The Toro is certainly more OS, but it's not a dump truck...it's very usable and reliable overstability. I do get that there's some overlap between the two, but I also feel like there will always be approach shots I can throw with one that I can't with the other. I don't anticipate either one coming out of my bag anytime soon!
My first os approach disc was and still is the harp. Got it in pink opto ice orbit and absolutely fell in love with it :D It feels so nice on the forehand chip ups but im kinda torn on how the bead feels on backhand. Still propably my most thrown disc this year.
Can't believe you didn't mention the Harp - my OS approach disc. When I found your channel (about 2/3 videos in of you starting it) and subscribed, you were throwing them.
Thanks for walking us through your discs and why... along with alternatives... very informative and helpful... now if you could get Jason to dance in the background it would be a perfect video!
The Crystal Flx Get Freaky Zone is my first overall choice and I used to supplement that with a more overstable Peppermint. I eventually replaced the PM with a 400 A2 but recently replaced that with a Special Blend A2 (Gannon Buhr Austin "Frozen Longhorn") that I probably use more than the Zone. It's my go to for forehand approach shots within 150'.
So did they change the mold on the pug between the 3103 and 4103. My gold on white R-Pro 3103 has an edge profile that from the edge seam, continues out slightly more before rounding to the top ridge, then the top platter domes from about 10mm in to just above the ridge. My black on ruby pink R-Pro 4103 has the sedge seam slightly higher, a steeper lower profile, a quicker turn in of the profile above the seam and a top plate level with the top ridge. The 4103 seems to have a slightly narrower round edge profile, with the longer lower profile giving the disc the same height to the top ridge as the 3104, but the 3104 cones out higher with it's raised flat top (so it's not a pop top dome making it higher, just a higher lift close inside the top ridge.
Overstable putt/approach for me is the zone, but specifically the 2022 Ledgestone metallic Z Flx. I have probably 15 at this point and grab more when I find them. They hold up pretty well, but my two that are in my bag are now in two different seasoning stages. May have to put a 3rd in for the new os slot.
Love throwing the buzz and wasp. I’ll throw either one around 270ft, then suddenly it’ll fall out of the air, and fade at the same time. I have them both in 176-177 grams
My overstable approach disc is an extra soft exo vapor tactic that I actually found in a pond. Contacted the original owner and he said I could have it. I was really greatful. I didn’t have a disc for that spot yet. My son throws the tempo in that spot
Disc I throw that people always ask me why is Innova Rollo. But the midrange overstable for me is Innova Toro. My son dyed the disc at the Music City Open but it was too heavy so I took it out. Love it. So, understable = Rollo. Overstable = Toro. I would like to try Innova Banshee and RocX3
I throw the Roc x3 in that slot you mentioned it. I’ve had at least 4 throw ins with it in league rounds. Been messing with the Crystal Flex zone a lot, I think it’s going to make putting east cause I’m parking them with my eyes closed.
Dude got my first PIG ACE today on a little 180ft hole!!! I have have a few aces under the belt but none feel as good as a PIG ACE!!! Why is the PIG so good man??? For real this disc is just absolute money!
-KC Pro Aviar (short shots with reliable fade) -Swan 1 Reborn (putts and short anhyzer shots) -Moonshine Harp (short approach shots, hard fade) -EMAC Truth (mid distance shots with reliable fade, straight flex shots) -Maul (distance shots, big sweeping turnovers, flip ups)
The Sockibomb Slammers are notably more Overstable than a Pig, but the OG Slammers are a little less Overstable than the Pigs. hahaha so I'd say they slot perfectly between Slammers!
I personally love my Campion Rhyno for my overstable putt and approach disc. It's a little more domey than my rpro or dx Rhyno. To me, Rhynos are pigs, just a little slower and great for flex shots 💪
For some reason you forgot Rift and Pathfinders. Both are very good. As for the zone spot, Doomsday's Area 51 has surprised me as someone who doesn't like the zone at all and needed something between the Razor Claw 3 and the Berg. Also, harp is good but a House of Discs thing so ... expect price increases without explanation at your own risk. (Note: My RC3 and Bergs are pre-HoD, so when they are toast I'll look elsewhere)
Forehand driver is a beat in 170 weight Guld in K1. Approach - A2 750 plastic Fairway flippy - K1 lots Mid- K3 kaxe a beat in one for straight new one for some beef Straight putter - my old putting putter reko
Mr TH-cam Man, why didn't you mention the Crave when you talked about fairway drivers. 😊 My discs in those slots: Distance forehead: Tesla/Fluid Felon Flip up fairway drivers: 147g fission Crave (1 of 4 craves in my bag) Approach discs: (FH) Fluid Justice (BH) Soft Tempo/Soft Berg Straight Throwing Putters: Zero Soft Pure
I do Toro and AX3. Wind, more fade, or slightly more distance = toro. Under 200, the rest are AX3. Also throw Suspects and Warden for other approaches.
"Trying a disc out in the polecat slot...." 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Jon! He doesn't let you in on these things? :D

Great video had to watch twice because it was easy to miss some of the tips

Only been playing for about two months now, but I just today threw my aviar x3 in from 65 feet.
Glad you mentioned the reactor, people sleep on that mold. I have 3 in the bag, fizzy, proton, and eclipse. They go so far!
I just found the need for an overstable approach disc this year and about 6 weeks ago got my zone and it has been very helpful to my game.

How would u compare the cicada vs the passion ? Currently in between them

The Reactor is a beauty, its my go-to midrange
I actually just aced with my beat in pig about a week ago finally I was stoked

any possibility of linking these discs to the foundation nation website? or did I miss it?
The Sharingan and Rinnegan dyes you have are absolutely beautiful. I gotta get me one of those someday
It's a beautiful one two punch!!
Try the halo Roc3 or the Rocx3. Great discs. Reliable fade & extremely good on tunnel shots....
Pig is love, pig is life 🐷
The Westside Anvil is my OS approach disc at the moment. Still super reliable despite a few chunks missing from the rim.
For that reactor / straight mid with a finish slot, the Lion is also great.
I know the Järn is technically a mid range, but it's my go-to approach disc. It's solid as iron from 200 and in forehand approaches.
Love throwing the buzz and wasp. I’ll throw either one around 270ft, then suddenly it’ll fall out of the air, and fade at the same time. I have them both in 176-177 grams

I would like to try Innova Banshee and RocX3
Those discs are great and all but my question is when is foundation restocking the Robbie C birdie wizard!?
On their way to the warehouse as we type!!
I have been waiting forever! Thanks for the update!
I throw the Roc x3 in that slot you mentioned it. I’ve had at least 4 throw ins with it in league rounds. Been messing with the Crystal Flex zone a lot, I think it’s going to make putting east cause I’m parking them with my eyes closed.
Jarn in K3 Line. I love that disc.
Dude got my first PIG ACE today on a little 180ft hole!!! I have have a few aces under the belt but none feel as good as a PIG ACE!!!
Why is the PIG so good man??? For real this disc is just absolute money!
Lets go!!!! Congrats!!
Ti Zone right now. I do bag a Pig and sometimes throw it if I want to minimize ground play.
Still haven't found the answer to the most important question... As an avid boardgamer and newbie disc golfer, Where the heck can I get that shirt? 😍
Probably a flippy disc golf shirt
-KC Pro Aviar (short shots with reliable fade)
-Swan 1 Reborn (putts and short anhyzer shots)
-Moonshine Harp (short approach shots, hard fade)
-EMAC Truth (mid distance shots with reliable fade, straight flex shots)
-Maul (distance shots, big sweeping turnovers, flip ups)
I'm doing great! 😅😎 thanks for asking.
One day Robbie C will ask me about my day… not today 😢
for the reactor alternative, a jay also has a similar flight
Been throwing roc's since i started playing like a decade ago. Keep like 5-8 of em in rotation at any time.
Berg, Envy, Hex, TL3, Firebird - straight and workable with a utility option probably covers 80% of my throws.
Is the pig the same as the slammer? I got a slammer and it's really good for shorter approaches
The Sockibomb Slammers are notably more Overstable than a Pig, but the OG Slammers are a little less Overstable than the Pigs. hahaha so I'd say they slot perfectly between Slammers!
Champ Firebird, Gstar Eagle, Gstar Roadrunner, Z Buzzz, Halo Aviar3
I personally love my Campion Rhyno for my overstable putt and approach disc. It's a little more domey than my rpro or dx Rhyno. To me, Rhynos are pigs, just a little slower and great for flex shots 💪
Love the slammer , but just started trying the distortion…

Entropy is finally coming in electron! I am saved!
Forehand driver is a beat in 170 weight Guld in K1.
Approach - A2 750 plastic
Fairway flippy - K1 lots
Mid- K3 kaxe a beat in one for straight new one for some beef
Straight putter - my old putting putter reko
Lonestar walker in bravo plastic. Ricky glow pig, and new p3x.
a base plastic overstable disc people should consider is the Yikun Hammer (2, 2.5, 0, 3)
Mr TH-cam Man, why didn't you mention the Crave when you talked about fairway drivers. 😊
My discs in those slots:
Distance forehead: Tesla/Fluid Felon
Flip up fairway drivers: 147g fission Crave (1 of 4 craves in my bag)
Approach discs: (FH) Fluid Justice (BH) Soft Tempo/Soft Berg
Straight Throwing Putters: Zero Soft Pure
Dye Game = 🔥
One day we can play and each sign our flippy tank pigs!
Robbie! Make Pig vs. tempo.
Try the star plastic wolf.
How bout a yikun hammer...compared to the pig?
Hornet for that mid range!
Verdict or my Matty-O Pine is my “Reactor”
Servo, Inertia, firebird, Inner Core, pure. Everything else in the bag can go.
C'mon Silas... you gotta back your boy up with some "on screen graphics" at 13:35.
I just switched from Pigs to AviarX3s
I do Toro and AX3. Wind, more fade, or slightly more distance = toro. Under 200, the rest are AX3. Also throw Suspects and Warden for other approaches.
How you doin Robbie?
Have you ever thrown a millennium JLS? Slept. On.
Kakashi > Sasuke
Vultures are supposed to flip up?! 😂
Toro>pig?!?!?😂
does hunter ever stop talking?
Of course not he is a TH-camr
I mean he runs the company...
He might have been filming their weekly warehouse, grip locked, meeting, you never know 🤷
Raider/crave/archive/a2/precious child get freaky zone
