Actually, Jacky and Paul are very different in terms of technique. Jacky uses primarily economy and sweep picking while Paul uses primarily alternate picking and string skipping. But yes, it all sounds the same, because it's so fast.
@@jimbowen8973 Jacky himself said that he has been influenced allot by Sharpnell guys. And you can clearly see the neoclassical influence on him. Also, his solos sound so much more awesome in his new power metal band.
@@shaneschulba9889 Dimebag is different stylistically. He’s got more of that Texas ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughan style swing and soul compared to the other guys who dig more into the classical realm of guys like Mozart and Paganini. They’re just different so it’s hard to compare

he play fast and sweeps because that what fits the band ? it would look a bit out of place if he stood up there with his green jackson dinky and started playing classical don't you think and to be honest you can talk as much shit about him as you want but he taught himself electric guitar with no amplifier and that's pretty impressive if you ask me and thats coming from a guitarist that plays blues to thrash metal.

If you listen to more than just VH hit songs like Jump or Panama , you'll see and hear all of the different modal playing, key changes and use of chords Jacky has never used in any of his work. Jacky Vincent is the best in the current scene, but even he would agree that EVH is another level.
