There's quite a few scenarios where one of them is suffering somehow and the other has a change of heart, even if it's brief. I remember like two episodes where they lock each other out in blizzards lmao
Bro, the storytelling, the humor, the general visual and narrational parts of the video are just top tier Hope you gain a lot pf recognition for that, keep it up!
Brother, the worst part abt that is that you learned absolutely NOTHING abt your previous death and as expected your next death caused by exact same reason!
Lots of people are saying he’s making a lot of dumb decisions, and while that is true, Leon’s determination is crazyyyy. Like he may be a bit of an idiot, but he’s a determined idiot and that’s what makes this video so endearing.
He’s like an immortal ape slamming its head repeatedly against a boulder until it builds a cave out of it. Yes, it’s determined, I can respect that. But it’s a stupid ape.

After watching this I have to say, this truly is the most painful minecraft video I've ever watched. And I have to compliment you for making a video that is actually incredibly good at keeping my attention. I didn't look at my phone once for like 30 minutes at some point and that's quite a feat
Brute force is acceptable for at most ten attempts to do something. But eventually you have to learn, take your time, and plan. Which is why I’m surprised he talked so much about it…but did absolutely none of it.
Honestly one of the best Minecraft videos I've ever seen in my entire life, all your dedication, strategies, stress, and many others, resulted in pure cinema, I myself was distressed in certain parts of the video, even though I'm 18, this is total madness that you actually completed this crazy challenge Other than that, the editing is perfect, summarizing an 18-day video into two hours that is still well edited is even more dedication (and still having to censor it after being demonetized) Amazing video man, congratulations on your achievement.
this is such a well put together video. i clicked on it expecting to watch for 3 minutes and move on but the editing is continuing to keep me locked in. extremely good quality from a relatively small channel, great work man

This is the first time I have actually seem a TH-camr that is not explicitly faking their stupidity and is just actually being stupid The fact he just doesn't bring a water bucket anywhere or blocks to shield himself in is the biggest tell he doesn't know how to play Also I think he didn't use the sword blocking to reduce damage even once in the entire thing
Haven't seen anybody mention it yet, but the whole thing with creeper balls is based off of the tanuki. Tanuki testicles were used to make gold leaf so their use in the diamond ingot crafting recipe makes sense.
is technological advancement still possible with hunting gathering, im aware they were more sedentary than pre industrial farmers and had a more diverse diet whcih made them taller or smth
the whole time im watching this, seeing all the nether deaths just had me thinking "why weren't his heals in his hotbar?" "why didn't he heal?" "is he stupid???"
The drowning deaths had me fuming like Take off the armour so you don't drown TAKE OFF THE ARMOUR *_T A K E O F F T H E G O D D A M N E D A R M O U R_*
On god. Bro was talking about being careful with interactions in the beginning. Yet he runs at mobs with the same attitude a newbie on easy mode runs at a creeper while in full diamond.
@@drewholmes7356 thats very true lmao. like he takes a lot of time to react to the mobs. but he was probably too tired and going insane after the time he had do spend and the times he respawned
You could argue that you need courage and a bit of stupidity (or something similar to the two) to even find the perseverance to continue something like this though. I think the reason this guy kept making so many mistakes is the same reason he was able to finish it at all
The fact you'll almost always have to dig a hole the first night makes the Creepers a much greater threat than usual. I like how a few changes makes the most iconic mob actually important to the gameplay lol
yeah, for example i really like how this mod made unremarkable mobs (like the ghast and the squid) into actual threats you have to take care of, never a ghast spawning overworld has been more dangerous than in this mod.
this modpack is like that one school subject that needs you to learn a bunch more stuff midway through. you die, a new substory begins, a story where you try to snap back into the main story.
He doesn’t bring a sword, water bucket, never keeps heals in hot bar, and never takes his armor off when he’s sinking, and then he wonders why he keeps dying? Hilarious video tho, keep it up!
Right?! like I keep saying why the fuck does he need to keep going into his inventory to take out his healing potion, it should be in his hotbar. And like do Swords and Buckets not exist in this mod? Cause I have no idea why he never made those considering how often he dies to lava and fire and Skeletons
Came back to this video not realising it was an upload, looking for that one comment about the title of the mod. “Better Than Wolves.” The way they put it really resonated with me, and I’m hoping they upload it again. For those wondering what the original comment was talking about. I remember it talking about how “Yes, we’re better than wolves. But we still have to worry about the same things they do, years of evolution led us to this point.” Something like that, like I said: it really resonated with me.
ok i dont know the lore of the modpack so forgive me if im missing the double entendre, but wasnt the modpack only named that because the creator got really pissed that wolves were added to the game over anything else and wanted to make additions the game, that were. well. better than wolves
fr every time he died cuz of spiders or the time he died because he got ganged by the blazes and whiter skeleton i thought: "why doesn't he have a diamond sword"

Also if anyone is interested in this but doesn't want a game that makes you consider giving yourself a Darwin award every half hour, try Vintage Story. It's similarly survival focused and I;m pretty sure inspired by this mod, but is balanced to be bearable. It can still take a dozen hours to get metal tools...
Isn't Vintage story inspired by TerraFirmaCraft? Last time I checked the game had so many similarities to the mod, you could mistaken it for a wierd MC mod/clone with TFC preinstalled.
@@loop_mind its similar and credits alot of their inspiration and choices to it. Id say its a just a more well rounded experience while having a proper system/engine for what terra firmacraft set out to achieve. Plus its an amazing modding platform while having devoted devs who care about the community and take the time to make sure updates dont break mods
@@loop_mind oh no kidding, you're right. I never played TFC outside of it being utilized in other modpacks. What is it about Minecraft modding and making brutally hardcore survival mods
An element is just an object made of a certain material, usually ceramic or metal, that is highly resistant to being destroyed by heat and can transfer it along its own surface. It is the glowing wires in your toaster or on your stove that glow red hot to cook your food, and also sometimes used in space heaters.
I didn’t watch the first version but im so happy this was recommended to me. I was so immersed the whole time, I was legitimately rooting for you behind the screen. I was excited to see you succeed and felt so awful at every setback. Shit was so exciting to watch. So proud of you Leon!

Only made it to the checkpoint so far, but this video is amazing. The narrative, the comedy, the editing. I've never seen someone use Gmod text props put up against a greenscreen in order to subtitle part of their video. Amazing work man. I'm gonna get through all of this because the amount of effort put into this video is outstanding.
Thanks dude, thanks to you I've discovered this total conversion mod and genuinely enjoying it so far. I'm still early game with campfires and finding a place to make my base and shi, and I can already confidently say I'm engaged in it more than I would've been into the modern Minecraft. This mod feels like Minecraft from an alternative reality, where it focused much more on the survival aspect rather than on self-expression and cosmetic stuff. Really hardcore and spooky!
The amount of times you mined into lava in the nether, then continued to shove your face against the netherrack as you mined to make sure you have as little time as possible to react, and putting your blocks to stop the lavaflow in as much of an awkward spot as possible... natural selection should've gotten your ass, man.
I have no words man. One death would have been enough to make me retire. Your level of patience is incredible. Whatever you’ve been smoking, I need to get me some of that!
Holy shit is this video entertaining. I can easily see myself watching this many times over and referencing it, the editing is beyond amazing all the way through the video, I do believe that editing this two hour video was far less painful then beating “BTW” Minecraft.
dude so many times im like "HE CLUTCHS" and he dies after is too many, im sorry you had to suffer throughout the making of this but that resilience is just admirable. 👏
I literally watched 2 hours of pain. At first i entered to see the mod and progression, but then it was literally pain, and it helped that the title was very honest, because if the title was something like "THE MOST HARDCORE MOD" or something i would've leave as soon as the progress wasnt made Absolute genius
That was a heck of a journey. It's awesome that you were able to beat what can easily be considered the hardest Minecraft mod, or even one of the most difficult games in general of all time.

It's also kinda like "Re-minishing" Rewards because the more you die and respawn, since the respawn distance is always the same, you'll soon recognize almost every repawn location on the circle and be able to find your base. So it's almost better to die a bunch of times, to make respawning easier
setting your respawn point being the literal last thing you can do in the whole mod is pants on head stupid if you ask me, this mod really puts the flaw in flawed masterpiece.
Unfortunately the mod totally commits to being brutally realistic. In real life you don’t respawn the closest the mod can get to that is basically making you start over every time. I honestly I’m surprised the mod isn’t automatically hardcore
@@toffeefeathersthis is actually a big complaint about the mod many have. It has some of the best progression and mechanics, it is so close to perfection, but the devs are just dead set on it being borderline unplayable for anyone who values their life. The community doesn't help either, being full of gatekeepers and toxic people. You can compare BTW community to those conservative old men who are dead set on their beliefs and refuse any change. This video, the cry of fear vid, and the Joshua Gram are my top 3 favorite videos from you. Since I first watched it this video has been my go to video to put on in the background while I do pretty much anything. I know these videos take a lot of time to make so they aren't really something you can just do all the time, but the work you put into them is definitely not for nothing because I really enjoy them. Anyways I hope you make more videos like this in the future and that you have a great day.
i wouldn't really call better than wolves "underrated." better than wolves takes all of minecraft's worst aspects and dials them up way, way too much. for example, hunger has been a controversial addition to the game for convoluting health regeneration and because of how quickly it becomes a non-feature as a result of trivial animal husbandry. in better than wolves the hunger mechanic is an unimaginable damper on gameplay (as demonstrated in the video) while providing no other amenities. you cannot forage for berries or sustainably hunt wild game. i've tried many times to play through better than wolves, hoping i could eventually get to some of the mod's actually interesting additions, but the entire experience is ruined by better than wolves playing up its """""""difficulty""""""" to an insane degree. the mod is intent to waste your time by circumventing what should be basic amenities: instead of picking sticks up off the ground, you need to waste a minute holding left click on a log. instead of collecting stones off the ground, you need to first waste a minute getting a stick then waste another minute holding left click on stone. past a certain point it stops being fun and starts being busywork. all of the time you need to commit to making even basic progress can immediately be erased by the hardcore respawn mechanic. better than wolves does not respect your time, nor does it really allow you enjoy any of the sandbox elements of minecraft. since it's on an older version of minecraft, you have a limited block palette, less interesting world generation, etc. so even if you make it to the endgame and you are now theoretically allowed to enjoy the game, your enjoyment is limited as a result of the mod prioritizing making the game less fun. better than wolves is terrible. most people who play bad mods have nothing to say about them, they just move on, which is why BTW has maintained such an unknown presence (until recently, it seems). it's upsetting how a mod with clearly so much effort put into it can be made terrible by a misguided design philosophy. if you want to a play a relatively untainted version of BTW with more configuration options, check out better with mods. it's for version 1.12.2 and has a lot of the mod's cooler features with the ability to disable a lot of it's less desirable ones.

You could argue that you need courage and a bit of stupidity (or something similar to the two) to even find the perseverance to continue something like this though. I think the reason this guy kept making so many mistakes is the same reason he was able to finish it at all
it’s sad to see the “this video might be disturbing” on a video that took someone days to record and weeks to edit and finalize.
So many deaths were so perfectly avoidable, caused by his own neglect. atp im convinced this video was ragebait
Of course it was rage bait so you watch longer so the algorithm pushes it out. Are you as dumb as him in the play through or something

Came back to this video not realising it was an upload, looking for that one comment about the title of the mod. “Better Than Wolves.” The way they put it really resonated with me, and I’m hoping they upload it again.

@@B.L.U.S I’m taking from my personal experience playing rlcraft. I feel like it can’t be that much harder unless he makes it harder like he does in this video.
The Respawn Mechanic seems like stupidly punishing, at the very least give players Coords so they know how to get to where they were.
I honestly I’m surprised the mod isn’t automatically hardcore
nah, that cancels the pain of the mod
@@toffeefeathersthis is actually a big complaint about the mod many have.
It has some of the best progression and mechanics, it is so close to perfection, but the devs are just dead set on it being borderline unplayable for anyone who values their life.

You can compare BTW community to those conservative old men who are dead set on their beliefs and refuse any change.

1:01:47 this is when I lost my fucking mind and started to watch like i was watching The Boys, you didnt learn from your mistake in a mod largely reliant on not repeating mistakes or not making them in the first place. Great fun, I hate skeletons
I doubt you'll see this but for the slim chance that you do I'm just commenting to let you know that I really like when you do these longer styles of video. Anyways I hope you make more videos like this in the future and that you have a great day.
i wouldn't really call better than wolves "underrated."
better than wolves takes all of minecraft's worst aspects and dials them up way, way too much. for example, hunger has been a controversial addition to the game for convoluting health regeneration and because of how quickly it becomes a non-feature as a result of trivial animal husbandry. in better than wolves the hunger mechanic is an unimaginable damper on gameplay (as demonstrated in the video) while providing no other amenities. you cannot forage for berries or sustainably hunt wild game.
i've tried many times to play through better than wolves, hoping i could eventually get to some of the mod's actually interesting additions, but the entire experience is ruined by better than wolves playing up its """""""difficulty""""""" to an insane degree. the mod is intent to waste your time by circumventing what should be basic amenities: instead of picking sticks up off the ground, you need to waste a minute holding left click on a log. instead of collecting stones off the ground, you need to first waste a minute getting a stick then waste another minute holding left click on stone. past a certain point it stops being fun and starts being busywork. all of the time you need to commit to making even basic progress can immediately be erased by the hardcore respawn mechanic.
better than wolves does not respect your time, nor does it really allow you enjoy any of the sandbox elements of minecraft. since it's on an older version of minecraft, you have a limited block palette, less interesting world generation, etc. so even if you make it to the endgame and you are now theoretically allowed to enjoy the game, your enjoyment is limited as a result of the mod prioritizing making the game less fun.
better than wolves is terrible. most people who play bad mods have nothing to say about them, they just move on, which is why BTW has maintained such an unknown presence (until recently, it seems). it's upsetting how a mod with clearly so much effort put into it can be made terrible by a misguided design philosophy. if you want to a play a relatively untainted version of BTW with more configuration options, check out better with mods. it's for version 1.12.2 and has a lot of the mod's cooler features with the ability to disable a lot of it's less desirable ones.
