    Your interviews with Lyle are a goldmine. I keep coming back.

    This stuff is like gold dust! I've been searching for this information for months! I'm just a regular person who's managed to lose 34kg. For the life of me, I couldn't find ANY meaningful info on how the hell to keep it off, and what it is that makes that so complicated. I'm finally starting to get my head around what 'maintenance' means for me. Thank you!

    This is such a good interview, wow. I love Lyle’s empathetic take on individuals who aren’t neurotic fitness enthusiasts going on the journey of losing fat and getting jacked to be much more of a difficult process compared to those of us are. As someone who was on the opposite end of that spectrum, it was extremely humbling for me to take a mental step back and realizing that this shit is tough. What’s normal for someone who practices physique athleticism isn’t normal for the rest of the population. Thank you for this ❤️

    Another weight regain problem I had was quitting smoking cigs ..Lost 50 pounds to a normal BMI on LCHF/Keto with IF .. decided I have a handle on this.. Omg, I tried so hard to not snack on too many nuts- cheese LC desserts. Welp 5 years later, 10 pounds a year it all came back :( Still LC food but too much !!!.. SO WISH I had found PSMF back then, dropped 9 pounds in 2 weeks :) :)

    I've fallen into the exact same eating patterns he described lol. I tried intermittent fasting and it made me ravenously hungry at night and I would binge often, and just like him I've found eating 3 or 4 meals spread evenly through the day makes me feel much fuller throughout the day and actually has made dieting a relative cake walk compared to when I was intermittent fasting. I even eat turkey sandwiches like him lol, I've found them to be uniquely filling

      similar story over here!

    • @mcfarvo

      Fairly similar here! I tried 16-8 and then ADF and I even experimented with some 3-5day fasting periods and now I find with lifting and running training, I have 4-5 meals evenly spread over my day.

    Excellent content. Excellent guests. Keep it coming! So far I've lost about 15 pounds in the past 8 weeks with a once-a-week refeed, but stuffing myself silly with pizza, cake and ice cream lost its charm. Just using rice, potato, sweet potato and oranges now and feel more sane (but the danger of going berserk on oranges is still there, as I found out last night!). The idea in 49:35 of looking at it as a day of "eating normally" sounds a whole lot more reasonable than looking at it as a "cheat day". Thanks!

    Always great information from Lyle. Unfortunately he will never be famous in mainstream fitness. Too complicated for most people.

    I've tried it all and at last i've fallen back to Portion Control, i.e. eating till i am not full to my neck (chewing slowly without using my phone or watching TV really helps) and some days when i wake up late I skip the breakfast with black coffee and eat more in the rest of the meals.

    If these researchers understood statistics AND were looking for honest/objective conclusions, the data would be presented something like the following: Results for each participant in the study, the full range of results (i.e. min and max), mean, median, mode, and a statistical range such as the interquarile or interquintile ranges. If someone doesn’t understand what I just said, they likely have no business reading and trying to interpret studies, let alone perform research.

    I'm the worst dude in the world when it comes to maintaining. 6 months ago I planned to maintain 70kg. After 4 months I was down below 66. Needless to say, I diet down with ease...

    You’re always either gaining or losing, even in “maintenance”.

  • @TheNRicciardi

    Mike Isratel suggests doing a diet break for 2/3 to 1.5x of time that the diet consisted of. Can you please ask lyle what he thinks of this please? is there any evidence for this?

    • @lisenpedersen
      @lisenpedersen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What does that mean? Half the time you diet you eat maintenance?

    • @TheNRicciardi
      @TheNRicciardi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisenpedersen for example if your fat loss phase lasts 3 months then you should do a diet break up to 4.5 months. He talks about this on his online membership RP plus.

    • @nicksarjveladze441
      @nicksarjveladze441 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nicholas Luca Ricciardi He was implying that you have to be equally the same or more time in state of hypercaloric as you were in hypocaloric to sort of let your hunger hormones be in better place and to be in healthy metabolic state throughout the year

    • @lisenpedersen
      @lisenpedersen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheNRicciardi right so my every two to third day fasting strategy is essentially flawless as I expected. Fast 20 hours one day and eat at a deficite followed by one to two days of maintenance+ in perpetuity. Lean for life.
