The E39 in my opinion is the best looking and timeless 5 Series ever built by BMW. The built quality is top notch and second to none. It's amazing how 20+ years car still turn heads anytime a well kept one passes by. It's indeed a masterpiece and deserves a top podium position in the BMW hall of fame.

I just have to take a minute to chuckle at the fact that a youtuber called Brit Car Vids uploaded a video where people with American accents about a German car lol
Don't think it's American. The English sounded more like a language of the world, since everyone can understand English. However, the presenters sounded very American. I prefer German presenters, and English in a German accent.
This video was definitely geared towards the US customer base. They only mention the 528i and 540i which were the only two versions sold here at that time.
At 17:40 they show how You can shift the Steptronic manually, but sadly BMW got this wrong: You have to move the gear selector forward to engage a higher gear and backwards to engage a lower gear. Many people have open the panel and changed the connectors to give it a more intuitive function of moving the shifter to the rear to engage a higher gear and forward to engage a lower gear.
