HAPPY 800th ANNIVERSARY, St Dominic! All the Cosmos is throwing a party! To God, give the glory! Now and Forever! AMEN! May God bless you all who follow in Dominic's footsteps...LAUDARE! BENEDICERE! PRAEDICARE! Sts Martin de Porres, Moses the Black, Mariam Baouardy of Palestine, and Benedict the Moor (Benito il Morro) made me proud of my 'mixed' Sicilian, Mediterranean/Byzantine, Celtic and Nordic heritage growing up, not ashamed!
Jerry, you have misunderstood Dominican life. Prayer and meditation will always come first. But joy is a great part of their lives, as they follow the life of their founder St Dominic, who joyfully sang the praise of God as he walked along.
Hello I used to study in St.Rose of Lima School in Bacolod Philippines I graduated Elementary there and I spent grade 7 and 8 there then after that my parents decided to transfer me to Don Bosco Victorias and It was very sad for me because I have to leave the school which I considered to be my home,I just want to let everyone know that even i am not studying in a dominican school anymore I am still a proud dominican student💖
This is the sound produced by an effeminate soul, which has mistaken his own soft affectations for the sense of the divine. Kyrieleison; the apostasy has cut deep, indeed. I say my Office from the (traditional) Dominican breviary by special permission, and am profoundly moved by the historic apostolate of the Order. Why somebody would turn from such riches to such saccharine, girlish vacuity... well, it bespeaks a cataclysmic death of the authentic, spiritual life.
I'm very concerned about the future of the Order.. this song is just ridiculous and childish!! and you call this an "hymn"? Is it so poor your inspiration? Please brothers and sisters respect your vocations, return to a life of prayer and meditation and quit this mondane entertainment. We need religious men and women inspired by God who talk to us about the Lord! we don't need jesters in black and white, neither we need congress organizers! May our Lord could inspire you to follow Him in His way.
St Teresa of Avila once said, "Deliver me from sullen-faced Saints, O Lord!" LOL Even St Catherine of Siena addressed Pope Urban as 'Mi Caro Babbo!' ('My dear Daddy!') She even brought him gifts and when he returned the favor, she gave most of them away to the poor and needy and set a smaller portion for herself! She must have had an incredible gift of gab to persuade the pope to return to Rome from Avignon, France, the way she did
+Nikodemus Heikman I suggest then that you don't listen - personally I think it is beautiful & inspiring. Maybe it wouldn't hurt you to listen....you might learn something.
Best Wishes to all Dominicans. Thank you for all the hard work in educating the youth. I graduated high school run by OP *^____^*

Jerry Uallera. Yes, after 800 years, this trivial Europop piece of musical bubble gum is the best that the Dominicans can come up with?
The horror!
