  • I bought a Renault Twingo 1.2 petrol bought from Auction for £350, at first all seems well but on the test drive things go badly wrong.
    Can we turn this car around for a profit?

    I've been watching videos of people selling on cars in the UK. In the states, that car would go for £5 thousand. You would pay £350 for a bicycle from Walmart

    Great vid & Twingo 2's are just very decent little cars. I guess much more reliable than the Smart, ehm, twingo 3. I own a Twingo 2 TCE GT for 4 years now and spent some money on it to keep it for years to come (circa 75K in miles on the clock). Remapped to 125BHP and 205Nm and it runs very well. Of course, quirky French electronics now and then (windows mostly) and the radiator/condensator needs replacement every couple of years because of all debris and stones that hit it. Your Twingo looks very stylish in grey, btw!

      How safe and easy was the remap? I drive a mk2 myself and despite it having 95k miles and being an old shitbox lol, I've decided to keep it cause I'm finishing uni and theres no point in buying a car if in 2 years I find myself in another country. However, I have the standard na 76hp, I like it, but I need some more, around 90-100hp would suit me fine, gotta keep it safe too. So I wanna ask, how did you go about the remap? Do I have to find a specialised renault "remapper" or anyone can do it? Also is it worth it or will my engine go kaboom, considering we aren't talking about the most capable engine around.

    • @RWL2012
      @RWL2012 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grigorisgiannikos4999 you're not going to get an extra 15-25hp from just a remap on the NA 1.2 16v, more like 5-10hp taking it up to 80-85ish. but it should give an improvement in throttle response that would be more noticeable than any maximum power gain.

    Hello Lee. Liking your vids. I've subscribed. Have to tell you this....I've just bought my dream car (black 2016 ST, 22,000k on the clock). You're so right when saying how small car prices are increasing. I've just part exchanged my Fiesta S on a 63 plate & 66,000k on the clock & get this......I bought the car from a private seller back in August 2019 for £4900, asking price of £5350 with approx 50,000k on the clock. Now, the forecourt where I bought the ST (only last week) offered me £4250 part exchange for my Fiesta S! I've since gone back to look & see on the forecourts website if they'd already put my Fiesta S up for sale & they had, asking price, what for it...........£6995!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯 Crazy or what...you tell me!?!? Reminds me of my early days in a main dealership back in the day. My mentor asked me to do a handover of a Metro automatic on his day off. He told me to make sure the lady signed the extended warranty before she took the car away. It transpired that the car wouldn't engage reverse gear, and that it would have cost a bomb to put right, so we sold it as it was but with a free extended warranty instead. Funny thing was, she never ever came back to complain! No such thing as Karens in those days.

      @@carukchannel I wouldn't want to be in the car game now Lee. Back in the good old bad old days, people had more realistic expectations and understood that used cars can and will break, and that it isn't necessarily the fault of the guy you bought it from. Nowadays people are far too eager to complain and expect a ten year old car with 100k to be like new and faultlessly reliable. Then when the inevitable happens, they slag you off on antisocial media and expect you to be responsible for everything. So glad I got out when I did. Don't know how you do it, but you obviously enjoy it still. In my experience, people are either absolutely lovely, or absolutely awful. There's no middle ground these days.
