This is day 2 of a few days hiking the Swiss Alps. I am combining my 2 loves; hiking and Landscape Photography. In this video I hike from Cabane FXB Panossière to Cabane de Mille. I shoot sunrise over the mountains and even a little sports action photography.

3 down votes already - I have an image of someone (maybe 3 people) so intensely jealous that they've subscribed just to get in early and dislike his videos. Even if I didn't like photography, I'd still enjoy watching these videos.

Thomas, I'm so glad that I found your channel. It really helped me push through the tough patches in my photography. These include a shot that just never shows up unless I have no time to stop, accidentally switching to JPG instead of RAW, Smoke filling the Grand Canyon and blocking the stars, and being unable to take pictures at Arches National Park in Utah. Through it all, I just remind myself to enjoy the moment and to keep on attacking new challenges. Thank you so much.

Hi Thomas I just want you to know what an incredible inspiration you are for me. I am quite heavenly sick and have a bad handicap. My spine is messed up from the bottom till my neck.. I spend most of my time in pain and can't take all the pictures I would like to and go to places I would love to go to.. A lot of times you are my eyes and it inspires me to not give up on my dream to take pictures like you do.. So thank you for making my life a little more worth living.. It's not always easy to stay focused if you always live with cronical pain.

    You are such an inspiration.
I've been watching your videos for quite a while, but I've never commented.
As a hobby only, I used to do a lot of film photography, but the switch from film to digital was difficult for me, and I eventually gave up. Previously, in the beginning, I used Petri cameras and lenses, then I switched to a Nikon N2000 and N2020. I tried to switch to digital with a Nikon D100. I still have all my equipment, and my Nikon lenses all work on the D100. So, I've begun to get everything out of storage, and possibly give it another try.
You may be able to judge my age via my camera choice in the beginning. The Petri's were Viet Nam era cameras, and at one point in my life I totally wanted to be a photojournalist.
Now, for me, landscape photography is where it's at, although at my age, and after three heart attacks, I doubt a trek like that would be possible.
Thank you so much for the fantastic videos and for all the inspiration. If I can't actually do it, I can, vicariously, through them.
    JT

Hi Thomas this is my favorite video of yours! The early mountain light over the glacier was just excellent! and nothing like a bit of sport photography in an epic landscape.
