on the Jay issue, here's my two cents. I feel like there is at least some intention behind how Finn''s head was impaled with two sharp objects, similar to a vampire bite, which we know his hat protects against. That detail alongside the fact there was not a single bit of blood when we know they can just show that now uses a very show not tell way to convey to us that farmworld Finn is still alive.

@LUCAS420BLZ golb is the god of chaos. Those tetras blocks are probably a bunch of people that feel like their life has no purpose. Since chaos itself is purposeless lich took this to mean that it wanted everything destroyed. But destroying everything doesn't create chaos, the only thing it does is create stale dead environments. He thought that golb would reward him for his efforts and blamed all his actions on golb.
People need to stop regulating everything down to just simping. It's really stupid. Fact is he just didn't understand golb just like Simon didn't understand Betty.

I kinda wish they had gone the route of getting magic into her world, it would open up the show to a guaranteed 2nd season (or more) where they have to fix the damage the magic does to her original world. If it did change the characters of her world, it would kinda suck, but adventure time is no stranger to having tragic outcomes for many of it's characters. Idk, I just feel like if they continue the show, it will be weird since there's no magic in her world which makes it a little less interesting. Also, if they want to keep exploring the multiverse, what would be their excuse to get back to traveling the multiverse? (And actually I don't mind the mundanity of her world, but it is better when it is contrasted with the magic of the land of Ooo).

I don't think GBetty was trying to criticize Simon. They were both human and did what they thought was best in order to find their happiness. If Simon knew better, he would have done better. I think Betty was actually trying to say "I sacrificed a ton for you and don't regret it because I think you ARE worth it, and your life has value. If not for yourself, try to do it for me." Of course, the message was sliiightly dilluted by Betty becoming an omnipotent omniscient being and therefore reducing her time with Simon to "an experience" but the love was still there.

    • @waf1174

Couldn't have put it in a more better way, she was trying to convey him this message the whole time, that she had sacrificed so much for him and she doesn't regret it because she values his life more than anything and that he should also learn to accept himself for who he is and just move on, it also makes sense because if he had put on the crown again, it would've only endangered his life while also neglecting betty's sacrifice of keeping him safe

He did do better. The show just for some reason ignores Simon goes with Betty's decisions multiple times in the series. And even when he tries to convince her not to sacrifice herself...she ignores him.
When Simon tries to warn Betty about the snakes...she ignores him. And saying "we both made mistakes" doesn't cover that.
You can have the point to move on...but not showing Betty reflect on her specific mistakes makes it seem one sided.

@@lProN00bl I have been someone like Betty. trust me their relationship was not healthy. Simon saying "why would I?" when Fiona asked if he went on the bus explained everything. Nobody is the bad guy. Simon prioritised his happiness and his goals and Betty was okay with doing that too. In turn, Betty lost herself. Even as GBetty, she still would do everything in her power for his happiness. Simon never prioritised her life, just his life with her. We both know if the roles were reversed, Betty would never dismiss Simon's idea abt snakes and she wouldn't let Simon sacrifice himself. That's the problem. She had a whole life and she constantly decides to follow this guy around and he never even thought abt the life she gave up. They could choose each other and still be happy. I think, with the ending, Fionna accepting her world was more than just the Scarab destroying it all. I think it was more so due to the fact that most of the worlds she's seen have gone to shit. She also had the dream of her world being a dark, twisted nightmare rather than the fantasy she wanted. She also watched as others suffered/would suffer so that she can get her world. All the people that died on her journey because of her actions. There's also the fact that many of the people were happy with their world as it was. Honestly I think the only reason Fionna and Cake's arc feels off is because it's meant to be open-ended, there's a possibility of a next season but the creators just decided to make it end like that in the case that there isn't cause they likely already have something planned for the things like how come the other people in that town didn't have a choice in wanting to be normal or magical
Shermy & Beth's part was pretty great honestly, considering the fact that if you watch when they found the book for the crown Simon said 'This world's petrikov' wrote the book, it makes the most sense that Betty sent him to the future and still thinking that it's a different world. He essentially gave himself the realization that Betty wanted, so it wasn't just an unnecessary camio just so they could put Shermy & Beth into the finale

I think the dissonance between the Simon arc and the Fionna and Cake arc makes some 'out-of-universe' sense when we take into account that thing we heard about how this show apparently used a lot from the proposed Simon-focused episode of Distant Lands that never got made. It feels like this conclusion to Simon's arc is something that the writers have had in mind and really locked in for a long time now, possibly even during the writing of Adventure Time itself considering Betty's Mars episode. Whereas it seems like Fionna's and Cake's arc was conceived largely just for this show.

maybe there could be a mini arc in a future season where he is injured but learns to rely on the townspeople/be forgiven even if ppl don't necessarily know finn was the one who had the ice cream originally before. tho it is kinda a missed opportunity for marcie to not be there in the end and having a heart to heart with simon or Ooo!Finn even tho we know he never rly 'got over' Jake's death even tho it was also implied he's still in touch with Huntress Wizard at that time

Anyways, I think Fionna's arc, especially in this finale, is intended to be a parallel to the fans that grew up with Adventure Time. For me, Adventure Time was always a source of comfort and wonder, and so having a character that longs for that fantasy from childhood/another world is a perfect parallel to what some of us look for in our escapism in shows like this. To have Fionna accept her reality as is was a bit of a bummer in some ways, but the idea of still being able to find magic even in the mundane is something Fionna learned to accept and appreciate, and the show encourages fans to do the same in their own lives. Overall, it was bittersweet and a little underwhelming in some regards, but I think it's a beautiful message that they did an incredible job portraying.

The show may had provide closure for Simon but for Fiona I don't think it's escapism, she was made as a counterpart to Finn and the show felt like it scared her away from doing any more adventures. Like it's only for boys like Finn and Jake to enjoy. And Cake has the mindset of a regular house cat that can talk and walk with no equal footing with an owner and pet relationship. If there's a season 2, I'm fine with it taking place in the city as a slice of life but continue to go on adventures. Also I would like them regaining their original memories at some point and Fiona regaining her adventurous spirit or at show her being heroic and help people in need to show that she never lost it. As for Cake, I hope her owner and pet dynamic change, her character has a lot of room to grow I would love to see her make flapjacks for Fiona again.

After the Ice Prince dying Fionna is depressed and never does any "adventuring". Yes, I know, this is a different world/reality/dimension, its suppose to be relatible. But literally the entire premise was Fionna NOT liking her normal life and each Finn carnation having that sense of fight and adventure in them. Cake does all the heavy lifting (literally) in the later half and Fionna is given plot armor strawberries to help save the day. Idk, i get this was suppose to be different than adventure time, but the way it was advertised i thought we were getting the fionna and cake we saw previously in the end. Was that just me? The art, music, and relationship of the characters i love but the story arc for Fionna specifically felt cheated.

I think the ending should have been that when Simon is trying to get back to Ooo, he ends up back in Prismo's time room, where he makes a wish on Prismo that Fionna and Cake's world becomes a part of the multiverse proper, and since everyone gets one wish, and we know Prismo couldn't bring Betty back for Simon, he's probably owed one. I think that would have tied everything up a bit better, and it would have paid off Prismo saying he thought he could do something just before Simon and the girls started jumping realities in the first place.

    • @КатяКалинина-х6м
      @КатяКалинина-х6м 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Recently, I had my own version of the ending.
Simon himself makes a wish on the dandelion. He wish to become Fionna and Cake's universe. After making this wish, he sacrifices his physical shell to make Fionna-world material and canon. And his soul turns into a field of similar dandelions, so that everyone can make their wish, but on condition. If the wish is well thought out and from the heart, then it will come true. And if the heart of the one who desires is filled with malice, then the dandelion has no effect on him. That would solve the problem with Fionna-world's people, who wants to be magical and together they can defeate Scarab. And also they will never have dragged people from other universes there.
I came up with this idea after reading a "Character Rant" Reddit post about it. There, the author didn't like that the lesson about Simon not paying attention to Betty's desire somehow gives him a chance to get a taste of life again. It doesn't make sense to him, because knowing that life has value and assimilation in a world where you have no place are not connected in any way. Because Simon is really out of place in OOO. Author came to an interesting conclusion - Casper & Nova should be a reminder to Simon that he was once again faced with a choice: help himself or Fionna and Cake (like with protecting Marcy or save his sanity). And Simon chooses to help his friends by sacrificing himself. For example, by becoming the new Prismo, since our Prismo was responsible for this mess, or something like that. That can make a bittersweet, but beautiful and tearjerking ending. Because Simon and Betty are always making big sacrifices for one another, even on a universal scale.

The style of the episode titles being just names or what people are known as is probably a continuation on the season 4 finale to season 5 premiere episode titling style, where it was names. Also, I understand what they were doing with Scarab- but I kinda wish he got some sort of redemption or at least make us feel like he deserved one. I don't see what's wrong with wanting to do your job and do it right and being frustrated that everyone else is just letting Fionna and Cake hop around killing people. It's so frustrating to have a well liked coworker that can get away with anything but you do what you're suppose to and you're seen as stuck up. You start doing what they're doing and everyone calls you out for it...but people seriously didn't care that Prismo was just ignoring his duties and putting universes in danger?.. I don't like that they didn't touch on that at all.
The ending super bothered me when the farmworld teens show up and just- stay?? Like you said, what about Finn? Jay's siblings? Are we going to get a reboot in this universe where baby Finn tries to make the world magic again? I didn't like that they were "sent to help" but didn't really do much. It felt rushed and I haven't been able to put my finger much on why besides the loose ends that I noticed or the things they decided to gloss over. I believe they left it open for a series where maybe they explore different universes per season. I refuse to believe they just forgot about these open ends.
I overall understand that not everything can be magical and that sometimes you need to come to terms in your own life to be happy and stay grounded but when you know magical worlds actually exist I feel like it would make it kind of hard to want to let go entirely of those fantasies.

I feel like a way to easily fix the problem with the finale would be for a lot of the characters to become magical if they want in the dandelion scene, and for them to fight back together. Then, in the montage they could show Simon hanging out with Marcy and jays family all chilling in Fionna world.

I kinda disagree with how you feel about Fionna and Cake's end. The idea is that they want all this magic and adventure and stuff, but they didn't understand that all that magic comes hand in hand with tragedy, war, and death. There is no perfect wonderful magic universe where you can fight monsters and stuff. All of Adventure Time was showing us how the world of season 1 was far more complex and tragic than we thought.

honestly, on top of being a fun callback, sending simon to the future confirms she doesnt experience time linearly so she has had to sit with an infinite understanding of their situation while watching their time together over and over again with her ex banging on her door for twelve years while he has every opportunity to use the life she Gave him to take care of himself and those around him better, and the end of the show is just that.. getting a little better one day at a time. I think Fionna and Cake's ending feels underwhelming is because Simon's crushed our feelings. They both have their problems, but Simon's one had been prepared for years and a ton of episodes. Fionna and Cake... we know them only for ten episodes.
We don’t have time to create an ending on the long run. We need someghubg effective. And what is effective? A big fight between the protagonist and the antagonist. We came back to what was Adventure Time in the first place: a fun adventure with a great hero against a scary bad guy.
Personally, I really appreciate Fionna's ending. Because I relate more to her than Simon? Because the trope of "fantasy is not what you need" talks to me more than "don’t let your partner sacrifice themselves all the time for you"? Maybe. But it's a normal, fun, ending. An ending fitting what Fionna and Cake had been during these ten episodes.
(And I really like Scarab's ending too because I felt bad for him the whole show. He was just doing his job!)

I thought Simon would blow the dandelion and then by spreading their universe it would be safe somehow. It kind of feels like a paradox that Simon put the universe inside the universe. It also bothers me a bit how everyone just blames Simon for how their relationship happened. I don’t remember how long they were together, but she could at any moment have talked to him about what she wanted. He just went along with what he was planning to do because he didn’t know what else to do. He was surprised that someone believed in him and overwhelmed by what they did. She wasn’t forced to do anything, she did it because she fell for an explorer and author she was interested in. She also calls him an experience at the end. It just doesn’t sounds right

I think we can all agree that Simon’s arc was perfect. I can appreciate the choices book, b/c, even if the viewer didn’t need it spelled out for them, Simon did. He needed to realize that the imbalance in their relationship is what led to these outcomes.
Also, I kinda wish the denizens of Fionna World got their memories of the magic back. Let them all realize that their dreams were in fact part memory, & let them see how they were. This creates a unique situation where everyone would get to choose what they want to be when Fionna makes her wish. Like Cake, they could choose to be magic & change to those forms, or choose to stay normal & keep living as they were. For people like Marshall, this would be a good option. It would also show that their world is now something new. It’s not Prismo’s fanfic, nor the de-magiced world they were forced into. It’s a mix & its own thing.

  • @Regden1000

I don't think farm world Finn got impaled if he was we would probably see some blood gushing from his skull. I think he just got pounded hard on the ground and got knocked out by the scarab, in the very worst case I believe he has a concussion and is being nursed back to health by his kids. Also because of the last episode it seems that the scarab isn't allowed to kill anyone from the canon multiverse.
