I haven't tried tumblers on my F1 yet, nor have I tried full wrap. You showing how easy it is makes me want to do one now. Thanks for all your great videos. I love that you try things new on camera and sometimes have issues (just like all of us).
Just got my first xtool and have done lots of wooden projects but have not done any Rotary tool projects. Looking forward to doing some. I watch all your vids and learn lots from them. Thanks so much
I love the things you do. I've learned so much about the tools I have from watching your videos. The Ultra will be on my doorstep this afternoon. I'm sooooo excited and tonight...we laser
Just started trying these on my F1 and the P2. Used the roller once and the chuck twice so far. The roller worked well on a non tapered tumbler, but I think I prefer the chuck as well. Thanks for the videos!
Love the tutorial! I don't have a laser engraver yet, but hope to get one soon for the right price. I have been buying supplies, though 😊 I am very interested in using the rotary attachment. Love you guys ❤❤
Great video! I just received my F1 Ultra and haven't done a tumbler yet, I have done some on my F1 and used the method of running the blue laser on the first pass then the IR on the second and using the chuck and no issues with it not running the same area on the second pass.
You need to use the chuck and leveling attachment that comes with the RA2 Pro, as the roller will let the tumbler walk. You also need to account for the taper in the tumbler. If you stop the job before it finishes you will never get it lined up again. XTool should really add a Home feature for the machine to rehome itself to. I do all my tumblers with first pass diode laser then second pass with IR for cleanup.
I am so glad to see you do this. I have a large laser with a rotary and have not even wanted to try it. Looking forward to your next video on designing a tumbler. Love your videos!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Thanks to your video, and my enabler friend, Karen, I have the F1 Ultra deluxe package sitting my cart on the xtool site. We have an 80 watt OmTech, but this will be fun for the things it can’t do.
Thanks for sharing. I do a lot of tumblers with the rotary but have not done a full wrap yet. My issue with the RA2 is, once I took the rollers off and put the chuck attachment, it was such a pain to do, I never took chuck attachment off again. I wish it were easier to swap between the 2. If you found an easy way to swap back and forth, I'd love to see that.
Very informative and 😎 I have worked with resin however after watching y'all's videos I'm looking at lasers 🎉 thank you for sharing your knowledge and love for engraving❤ ❤❤
I loved this video and learned so much! I just got the XTool F1 and haven't even unboxed it yet. I got the rotary attachment with it as well as the slide extension and air purifier. I can't wait. Will I be able to create this look on the F1? Thanks so much. You two are awesome.
I haven’t tried tumblers yet because I was seeing so many people have issues with doing a full wrap! Definitely looking forward to next week’s video to see how you design it!!
I've done sublimation tumblers and just bought the F1. I'm excited to start working on tumblers with the F1. I have the chuck and just want to do as much research before I do my first tumbler.
I use my F1 and the chuck. Very cool things we did and I was able to figure out how to make the engraving color to be Black!! So so cool.....Thanks K & G!!
My wife and I just set up our xtool P2 and just started exploring and learning how to use it. We've been experimenting with wood so we haven't even explored the use of the rotary tool yet.
Hey Guys, I love watching you guys, I sublimate my tumblers (very easy) I recently purchased the WeCreat and have lasered a few( also pretty straightforward) My next adventure is the XTool M1 ultra... Really excited and hope to see videos from you on it as well. Thank you for all you do to help fellow crafters. God bless
Aw! Thanks! That's awesome to hear! I'm glad you're enjoying the content and finding the tutorials helpful. Can't wait to see what you create with the XTool M1 ultra!
I've only used my s1 for tumblers so far. Got the ultra and need to reorganize the craft room for better efficiency and multiple laser use! Tip you can out the chuck jaws IN the tumbler I found that holds much better!!! (for me at least)
I’ve just done single designs. Haven’t tried a full wrap one yet. Not sure how to set it up. But I’ll be watching for your video on how to set one up. Thxs for your videos
I laser engrave with the P2 using the chuck on there. I purchased a 3D made screw on from Etsy. I would love to try on F1 now but chicken too until I saw your video today. Thanks for all you do. I appreciate your expertise & humor.
Im just in the trial process kinda afraid to do a full wrap cuz them tumblers are expensive to waste😂But I may try them again since u made them look so easy❤.Love ur videos and always so easy to follow😊
Just unboxed my F1 Ultra and filter system! I'm (almost) too scared to plug it in, what if I screw something up? :) I am no expert, just a beginner and it just looks like fun.. I'm old and bored! Thanks for posting this tumbler vid, those are on my learning list! You should do a vid on where to find those files for wrapping! Other than TH-cam, I know not where to start.😉
Waiting for the F1 ultra to arrive next week. I have used the rotary tool with the chuck seems to work better for me. Try some full wraps soon! I have just did it on my D1 pro have to try on the P2 as well
I have only used laser on black flasks so far. Still haven't taken the rotary tool out of the box for tumblers. But I have a few ideas brewing for a Chrismas Cup! Keep up the good work, I'm loving the different projects!!!
I use a diode laser. I just added an inexpensive co2 laser that I haven’t tried with the rotary axis yet. I am excited to learn how to make a full wrap design next week!
I haven't engraved a tumbler (YET). I an waiting for RA2 cable for the F1 ultra to be delivered. But I have laser engraved a couple metal flasks. Can't wait to see your Military ones.
I have a Xtool F1 and have used the rotary chuck twice on tumblers. They were not full wraps. I’m looking forward to your video next week on how to design full wraps!
I laser my tumblers. Have not had the confidence to try a full wrap. Might be time to give it a go! Nice job on full wrap! Do you have to account for the taper to get wording and images to not appear skewed?
Thank you for your kind words! Trying out a full wrap can be intimidating, but I'm sure you'll nail it. We will touch on the taper during our design video this week! 👍
I am still using a glowforge, and I wish it had the options of the xTool. After watching everything the F1 can do it will be my next investment because I really want to do tumblers.
What tumblers did you use? Normally do sublimation for my wraps but very interested in using a laser. Glad to see you make mistakes as some of the videos it seems everything comes out perfectly. Gear drive on the chuck will always be better and more accurate than the rollers because as you said things can slip on the roller and you might not notice. Very important if you have to make more than one pass.
Hey i enjoy your videos. I have a 32oz powder coated water jug covered in backwards and failed engravings. I have a roller and a rotary chuck. The thing has dents in it from being dropped multiple times. That makes problems for the roller and it's too long for the rotary jaws to hold. I even 3d printed a longer set of arms but they seem to need to be angled in so they didn't work either. I finally did my first 3 successful logo engravings on 20 oz tumblers for an event for our RC club which I donated. They bought 20 more for me to do for the next event. Having some extra tumblers to hone my skills would be awesome!
nice did you do the second pass on the chucked tumbler? why did you cut the video at the most important part at the end of the engrave or the start of the 2nd engrave.. its time to be more transparent

Just got my first xtool and have done lots of wooden projects but have not done any Rotary tool projects. Looking forward to doing some. I watch all your vids and learn lots from them. Thanks so much
I keep going back and forth between the F1 and the ultra. This video helps. Keep up the good work.
Very useful video, I just received my xtool f1 ultra today. I am using it by watching your video. I am totally newcomer in laser business.
I love your Demo’s. I am deciding on an x tool machine, and your projects really spark my imagination and help me decide which options I will need.

I love watching everything you do. I’ve learned a lot from watching you.. Thanks for all you do..
Nice job!! Just started with the F1 ultra. I’m new to engraving and have yet to do my first tumbler, but can’t wait. I will be using the chuck system.
Full wrap tumblers are the best! Love my xTool S1 and F1 Ultra! Thanks for doing this informative videos! Love you guys!
Thanks for all your videos. Very informative. I like using the chuck rather than the rollers.
Chuck vs. Rollers - the ultimate showdown!🏆
I am so glad to see you do this. I have a large laser with a rotary and have not even wanted to try it. Looking forward to your next video on designing a tumbler. Love your videos!
Looks like it's time to dust off that rotary and give it a spin! Stay tuned for some tumbler magic.🔮✨

I'm glad you found the videos informative! It's always exciting to explore new techniques like laser engraving.
Love It!!! Just tried on rotary on my F1 this week for the first time. Can't wait to try a full wrap tumbler.
That's awesome! Trying out the rotary must have been exciting. Can't wait to see your full wrap tumbler creation!😀
I've only done one full wrap but did do 16 32 oz front and back engravings. I also do epoxy and sublimation cups. Love your videos!
I made my first tumbler on my P2 last month. These could be addictive!!!! Thanks for sharing your video!
Once you start tumbling, there's no turning back! 😎
I loved this video and learned so much! I just got the XTool F1 and haven't even unboxed it yet. I got the rotary attachment with it as well as the slide extension and air purifier. I can't wait. Will I be able to create this look on the F1? Thanks so much. You two are awesome.
Oh yeah! Totally! Use the chuck, it's way easier. Go unbox it!!!!
I have the rotary to tool but haven't tried it yet with my P2. Thanks for the encouragement.
Thanks so much for all you do. Your videos are so informative and I've learned so much! Can't wait til we can add a Fiber to our shop!

I only have a Cricut right now. Watching you guys to determine what laser to get.
Choosing a laser is like choosing a wand in Harry Potter - it has to feel just right!

Love using the Rotary! Bought the accessory kit as well. Comes with locators and laser for center.
Have you tried the chuck jaws inside the tumbler instead of on the outside edge?
We did! Both techniques work just fine 👍
I have only used my rotary chuck once. It turned out great but was a little nerve-racking, wondering if it would work!

Love the tumblers. Just got my F1 ultra and anxious to try my hand!
I do tumblers with resin but one of my grandsons wants a laser to start an online business...so Memaw will be learning how to laser!! LOL
I haven't engraved a tumbler (YET). I an waiting for RA2 cable for the F1 ultra to be delivered. But I have laser engraved a couple metal flasks. Can't wait to see your Military ones.
This looks so sweet and easy!
Sweet and easy like a piece of cake!🍰
I am sublimating my Tumblers but the engraving looks AWESOME 🤩
That's fantastic to hear! Sublimation can produce some amazing results on tumblers.👍
I have only done 1 so far with my laser ready to learn ❤
That's awesome! Keep trying new things with your laser and have fun with it! 😁

That's awesome! Tumblers are so easy to do on the F1s.

OOO!!! Kim want to try rings so bad! Can you show us what you made? Post them on the Kim and Garrett Make It Group!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit I hope Kim tries them, since I am purchasing the F1 Ultra and want to do them, too.

those are some foxy full wraps that would do on my F1 with a chuck as roller walking is a pain as I like a second ir pass to clean it up!
This week we are showing how to make a full wrap design. I want to try the chuck again and run a second pass with the IR.
Hi, how do you prevent from over burn the lower part of the image? due to the smaller diameter.
nice did you do the second pass on the chucked tumbler? why did you cut the video at the most important part at the end of the engrave or the start of the 2nd engrave.. its time to be more transparent
I find it funny the week after I buy my htvront for wraps this vid pops up. Been running pros and cons of the tumbler game and wraps for me were best profit per hour. Wrap images are plentiful on creative fabrica so it made sense to me.
