Just wanted to add: I’m not going to force myself through any of the books you choose for me to keep! I just thought it’d be fun for you to pick some for me to give a chance 😊 But same as any reads if I’m not liking it, I’ll DNF it!
For sure! You have every right to read what you want and don’t push yourself! I haven’t read any of these but Wait For Me and the Happy Ever After Playlist sounds up your ally! Also I have a hard time unhauling but I leave them in my garage and if I keep thinking about a book I got rid of I take it out and read it. Not sure if that helps!
I read yes no maybe so and really enjoyed it! I didn't think it really focused too much on the politics and voting stuff in the book. I'm not at all into that stuff in books either but I liked this one. It mainly was just a cute romance and I think you'll enjoy it!
There will come a darkness The unknown able end All the ever afters Sea fires Also I think you should make a video where you read books that you had on your shelf for more then two years just a suggestion
I honestly agree with all of these to be unhauled especially when you say you’ve tried so hard to get through certain ones so I feel bad for my choice but All the Stars and Teeth was really good, but I like fantasy pirate books so please don’t force yourself. I think I would like a “low expectations books” reading vlog instead.
I feel like every time you mention Carry On, you aren’t really falling in love with it. Don’t force yourself to read/keep a book you’re not interested in! There are so many more books out there so un-haul Carry On!
Let Carry On go! I think if you’ve tried to pick it up multiple times and it’s hasn’t intrigued you, that’s a sign! I love that you give your books to your school library, they’re lucky to have you! 💕💕😘
If you think about unhauling all of these books, unhaul all of them. If you miss one of them you can get it back. But chances are, you won't. And in the meantime you can concentrate on the books you really want to read. But if you want to keep one book, keep The Cure for Dreaming because it is lovely and mysterious and the story of a young woman finding her voice and standing up for herself and her rights (plus magic and love of course).
I agree with others to just unhaul them all! However, I am also interested in seeing your thoughts on There Will Come a Darkness. It looks really cool 😊
"I'm working on the impulse buying, I promise" is the vibe for all book lovers this year lol. I think you should keep "There will come a Darkness", "Suggested Reading", and "Seafire"! They're all really interesting reads, at to me they were.
I’m with some other people here and say just unhaul them all! I’d much rather see a reading vlog of you reading books you’re actually excited about rather than ones you aren’t feeling as much anymore. 🙂
This is a fun idea! I love that you kind of built a library in your old school, it's devastating that they had to cut the library so I'm glad that they will get good, diverse, and pretty recent books.
I would definitely recommend giving Tithe a chance - I haven't read Holly Black's newer books yet but I absolutely adored Tithe and found it to be a short read as well :) On another note you're inspiring me to do unhauls as well so thanks for this video - it was a lot of fun to watch!
I understand why people want you to read Carry On, and I myself liked Carry On, but I would actually say unhaul it. You’ve tried it multiple times and haven’t wanted to continue so while everyone wants you to keep it and finish it, you’re probably going to dislike it and everyone that likes the book are still going to be upset. I would recommend Seafire by Natalie C Parker
I think Cary On is a great book to give to your high school. It may not have vibed with you but could be a really fun and important read for a student!
There Will Come a Darkness and The Upside of Falling are books I really enjoyed. There Will Come a Darkness surprised me because I don't really like fantasy. I hope whatever you pick you enjoy.
My suggestions are between 2 of them 1. The upside of falling 2. Wait for me But that being said I hope you have the best rest of your week and weekend! 😀
Why would be anyone surprised that you donate adult books to a high school ??? :D Maybe it's because I am European, but I don't see anything wrong with it. We read Remarque and Hemingway at that age. Do not underestimate the intelligence of teenagers. And honestly, relationships in adult novels are often much heathier than a lot of YA tropes....
I am in England and I was always so annoyed that my school library only had so many books that I would actually read and even the I had read most of them before or at the start of high school. We had to do quizzes on all the books we read so the school knew that we were reading but most of the books I read wasn't on the system because they were either adult books or just not on their so I had to do the quizzes on books that I had read in the past. The funny part is that I still managed to get one of the highest word counts in the very large year haha
Just unhaul Carry On, its really not that special and youve mentionned wanting to unhaul it several times. Dont waste your time on it especially if youve tried reading it already
I suggest just getting rid of carry on since you tried multiple times reading it and the book has never worked for you, so what's the point in holding on to the book because of that. the book I think you should keep is All the stars and teeth.
I actually really enjoyed the upside of falling because it was just super cute. Not a lot of people talk about it but agin it was super cute and a fast read!
I love revisiting your old videos, especially the unhauls. They are really motivating! I hope it can help you a bit to rewatch your videos and liking them. Please take care Hailey, you have always been a great reading motivation :) !
I adored There Will Come a Darkness! But I LOVE avatar so when it was recommended as ‘if you like that try this’ I had to. I actually appreciate those recs bc they’re not saying it IS that, but that it could be up your alley if you enjoy those vibes. Tbh I don’t know if I’d recommend to you because it is a fantasy trilogy with lots of character povs... Idk I love it but I get that things aren’t for everyone. I do however recommend Avatar it’s so wholesome & incredible & enjoyable for everyone ☺️✨
I absolutely LOVED The Cold is in Her Bones. It was a short and quick read, and I love Medusa in general. I don't recommend Suggested Reading. I read it and it just felt kind of cringey to me, if that makes sense? I love YA, but that one wasn't it for me. My rule of thumb for unhauling, probably because I've moved so many times in the past 8 years (college town where rent fluctuates and landlords sell to people who don't want to rent out, etc) is "would I try to make room for this if I only had one box for books?" Obviously I have way more than one box of books every time I move, but if I can't "fit" the book in my hypothetical box, it can go. Also I love that you give your books to your high school. I wish we'd had someone like you in my hometown when I was in school!
I would really recommend All The Ever Afters. I was skeptical too because I hadn't heard of it and then a relative passed it on to me, but I really enjoyed it! Definitely underrated.
I'd at least get rid of the DNFs. I came to the realization that I will not live long enough to read every book that I want to, so why waste time on books I've tried and didn't like, books I've lost interest in or even books I'm unsure about? Even if you do get rid of a good one, you'll never know what you missed and you'll go on to read another good book instead! As to which you should keep I can't comment as I haven't read ANY of those. 😊
I really enjoyed Wait For Me! It’s not a groundbreaking, deep historical fiction, but I think it’s a nice quick read that’s not as heavy as other books about WWII. Interesting because it’s based on a bit of history I had never heard about (German prisoner of war sent to work in Scotland.)
The Blood Rose Rebellion and Yes, No, Maybe So were good reads. The Blood Rose Rebellion had a twist at the end that made it really good, in my opinion. And Yes, No, Maybe So was a fun contemporary romance.
I think you should unhaul and if you have an urge to read one, you can always check the library! They always have books within the year or two after it’s out! I collect books too but I use the library more and I find a lot of my collection is books I got from the library first and then bought because I loved it so much! Love your videos btw ❤️
I myself only have read All the ever afters, but it was good!! The stepmother really becomes a person whilst making good and bad choices in her life. Don't try it if you don't like the coming of age kind of stories or if you are excpecting a fairytale retelling type of story. It is just a story on its own throughout her life. I'm curious if you would like suggested reading. Just because I also have it on my tbr and would love to hear your thoughts about it!
I loved Girl, Unframed - if you like suspense, this might be good. But there are a few oddities to this one, such as the mom's relationship with the daughter and the mom's bf.
I personally loved All the Stars and Teeth. I did have a little bit of a hard time getting in to the physical book, but I binged the audiobook and it's sequal in less than 3 days!
Honestly, you can get rid of Carry On. I agree w/ what you said re: that people say it does get better when THAT character shows up and interacts w the protagonist, cuz its fun and cute and warm and all that jazz, but that's really the only good part of it, everything else is either unresolved or doesn't really feel that well developed so. Seafire's alright tho. I enjoyed it for what it was and am interested in how the rest of the series turns out, but its perfectly average so idk maybe try it and see what happens! Sending love to you!
I struggled with Carey On, for me it didn’t get decent until chapter 42. It just dragged so I completely agree with you. It was tough to get through the beginning and middle 😂🤷🏼♀️
I think you should keep and read for the reading vlog would have to be All the Stars and Teeth because I read that book last year, and I throughly enjoyed it. I love it so much that I preorder the second book the next day. I had trouble finding good sea book related themes, but this book keep me on the hedge of my seat to the whole time, I couldn't stop reading it. It was so good!
Wait for Me was my favorite book of the year a couple of years ago. I'd say it's definitely heavier on the romance than the historical side, but the romance is super cute!
Hailey, don't ever feel like you have to pick up a book or like a book that seemingly everyone loves. Its completely okay if you dont like Carry On. You've tried reading it multiple times, so you can let it go if thats what you want. Im saying this as a person who loves Carey On
I say try out Suggested Reading and Wait For Me. I have those books on my shelf and would love to have a buddy to read them with :) also, unhaul Carry On. You really tried to get into it but it just doesn’t click. Anyone gives you a hard time about it, they probably have a book you liked that they couldn’t get into
I think if you aren’t enjoying a book, especially if you’ve given it a try more than once, I would unhaul it and make room for the books that you’ll enjoy.
I say give “There Will Come A Darkness” a chance and unhaul “Carry On.” Since you’ve tried to read it multiple times and still haven’t enjoyed it I think you should finally let it go.
You Say it First by Katie Cotugno is such a good book! Very underrated. I hope you end up reading it. I'd also suggest Happily Ever After Playlist by Abby Jeminez
I think you should keep All The Stars and Teeth as well as The happy ever after playlist. All the stars and teeth was a fantastic read and The Happy ever after playlist was so light-hearted and an easy read.
Omg! You can't believe I got such a shock when I read the title. I just finished reading the Night Country which is the second book in the Hazel Wood duo by Melissa Albert. It has absolutely no fanfics, no book reviews, it's literally dead in the internet and that sucks lol. I thought since a lot of people hated and I LOVED IT SO MUCh you were gonna throw it away lol. Thank gosh none of the three books are there in this. And Guys Pls read the hazel wood ! I'm sure you'll love it!
Lies Like Poison I really really liked. The story pulled me right in from the first few minutes (I read the audio version) and was engaging throughout. You give me a teenager who can love unconditionally and I'll love you forever. I'm easy like that.
I really enjoyed Yes, No, Maybe So! The romance is super cute and there's a lot more to it than just voting. It goes into activism and religion as well. I also really loved The Happily Ever After Playlist and would recommend it.
I'd say keep Infinity Son! I read it and did think it was pretty good although I understand not everyone will enjoy it as much. Plus Infinity Reaper the sequel just very recently came out!
I think you should give Suggested Reading a try! It’s a pretty quick read but super enjoyable and it really sucked me into the story. I agree with lots of other people who say you should I haul Carry On. I read it once and it didn’t make a big impression on me so I think it’s totally fair if it isn’t for you
My votes (in descending order - the books I most want to see you keep and read are at the top) are: Into the crooked place!!!!! The great unknowable end, Blood rose rebellion, Suggested reading, All the ever afters, Wait for me And yes, I know that's 6 not 4, I'm sorry! 😂 I just couldn't choose! 😆 But ofc, you can narrow that list down as you need/want to or as you see fit 😊👍
I read Good Luck Charm and it...was really not great. But I think The Happy Ever After Playlist was cute! The author wrote that one first before going back to write The Friend Zone set before this (which I think you can kind of tell when reading it), but I still really enjoyed it.
Just wanted to add: I’m not going to force myself through any of the books you choose for me to keep! I just thought it’d be fun for you to pick some for me to give a chance 😊 But same as any reads if I’m not liking it, I’ll DNF it!

Yeah usually I will just unhaul them haha, this is just a fun little experiment!
First one to comment..yay
@@TheDope415 yeah sure 🤭
I agree with others to just unhaul them all! However, I am also interested in seeing your thoughts on There Will Come a Darkness. It looks really cool 😊
“There’s not a vibe there anymore” I completely understand 😂
I haven't read them but I would be interested in seeing you read
1. There will come a darkness
2. Wait for me
3. The upside of falling
4. Seafire
Yes! I loved Wait For Me and The Upside Of Falling. I haven’t read the other two though.
there will come a darkness is one of my favorite books!!
@@mollylawrence1178 I’ll have to check it out! Thanks
Unhaul Carry On! It’s been haunting you for so long - slay that ghost and kick it to the curb! Don’t let it have power over you
Try the upside of falling! It was a super quick read and adorable
"I'm working on the impulse buying, I promise" is the vibe for all book lovers this year lol.
I think you should keep "There will come a Darkness", "Suggested Reading", and "Seafire"! They're all really interesting reads, at to me they were.

Wait for Me by Caroline Leech! I loved it, and this is the first time I've seen anyone actually talk about it!

Try "Wait For Me" It's addicting and fast-paced. It wouldn't take you long to read it. It is a book that is most definitely worth it!
I really like this idea to vote for a book you can try out before unhauling. 😁
I vote for: There Will Come a Darkness.
Because it sounds amazing!
I SUPER ENJOYED “ONLY A BREATH APART”!!! Really did a good job incorporating personal/family drama/issues and a superrrrr sweet romance
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on There Will Come A Darkness, Suggested Reading and Yes No Maybe So.
1. Only a breath apart

Don’t unhaul Wait For Me!! It’s one of my favorite books, and it’s definitely a hidden gem 💎
I would say try Tithe when you’re in a fantasy mood. I really enjoyed that one, more than the Cruel Prince.
THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO GET RID OF CARRY ON. Just do it.
I would really recommend All The Ever Afters. I was skeptical too because I hadn't heard of it and then a relative passed it on to me, but I really enjoyed it! Definitely underrated.

Keep the upside of falling, it was surprisingly really good!
Definitely unhaul them all. Your hair is looking so gorgeous recently!
The Happy Ever After Playlist is SOOOO good!!!
Read Yes No Maybe So!! I was really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
I think you should give Suggested Reading a try! It’s a pretty quick read but super enjoyable and it really sucked me into the story.
I agree with lots of other people who say you should I haul Carry On. I read it once and it didn’t make a big impression on me so I think it’s totally fair if it isn’t for you
My votes (in descending order - the books I most want to see you keep and read are at the top) are:
Into the crooked place!!!!!
The great unknowable end,
Blood rose rebellion,
Suggested reading,
All the ever afters,
Wait for me
And yes, I know that's 6 not 4, I'm sorry!
All the Ever Afters sound so cool!
I would recommend keeping the Happy Ever After Playlist and All the Stars and Teeth! I would love to hear your thoughts on them :)
