Cool. I had a 1987 Gradate in the early 2000s bought really right. Got a solid year out of it until the clutch went and never did get it back on the road. Too many "while I'm at it" things to have money and time in the correct alignment.
Also Shell Spirax HD is the OEM transmission fill. It's near impossible to find. I think Redline has an equivalent. But that 1-2 crunch is exceedingly common on that transmission.
Ok. I'm new here to this channel. Hoovie.. brought me here. And as a owner of several past Alfa Romeo's buy it.. I have a 1986 spider veloce currently. I just go back in time to when things were simple.. including Alfa's.. the spider of this vintage is the easiest to maintain.. GTV6 might be quicker.. and more unique.. 164 L/S /Quadrofoglio even better.. only in 5 Speed manual version. Nothing.. but simple driving pleasure.. I guess I'm old school.. but it will put a smile on your face! Just remember.. Jeremy Clarkson said you are not a true petrol head a until you owned an Alfa Romeo!! Don't even fix the AC .. it's useless. Drop the top an enjoy!!!! Great video! It's been so Hot 🔥 in Missouri. I have to drive the boring daily driver.. I don't want any flack.. Toyota
5:35 that moulding is a horrible mistake. Mine has none and looked fantastic. I can’t believe this car even has that crap on it. Pretty sure that wasn’t out in at the factory
I love the Pininfarina styling of this car. The understated elegant lines, and cherry red was the way to go. But that said-I never liked the handling. Turning radius was awful compared with my porsches and the rattle bucket this was made for constant upkeep and needless headaches. Not at all as fun to drive as it was pretty and the envy of onlookers. A great midlife crisis classic to remember. XD
Typical used car salesman line “I don’t know if the AC works… Didn’t try it… “As if you wouldn’t… To try to sell a car. Obviously it doesn’t work. You’re not a very good salesman
Put it in 2nd gear and roll about 5-10mph. Do a mini clutch drop around 3-4k rpm. It will either pull down the motor, spin the tires, or slip the clutch. If it’s the latter, the clutch is weak.
SOLD!

This reminds me of the movie Fletch
Would be nice with a paint job and detailing. Could put quite a few $k into it. The DOHC engine is nice 👍
Or drive it like it is and enjoy it!
@@euroasianbob9268 Paint would be nice, top of fenders shows quite a but unless you can buff it out?
What are you asking and is it available? This video is over a year old.
This Alfa is sold but I have another one coming in. Keep an eye on our website.

How do you do a clutch test ?
