I would pay more for a classic than for a modern run of the mill economy box. Except that I had a run with Alfa in the past and it wasn't pleasant at all. Other than that This is an amazingly beautiful car.
imo Ant is a good mechanic, as is Edd China, but with both of them they "skimped" on a few jobs. This being THE perfect example. We see Mike come in with the new hood and immediately both of them get on with the fitting. But what about cleaning the surface rust on the frame and giving it a "lick of paint"! If I were the new owner I'd be pretty miffed to discover this hadn't been done prior to a new hood! Then there's the Windscreen wiper assembly! With my own new cars after I notice fading I'd remedy this. And the Engines! Are we to assume a Full Major Service has been done especially if no service history! What about such components as the Timing Belt/Chain? In cars over a certain age I'd remove the engine, not just to check the engine and give all the hidden parts a good check, clean, regrease and paint if necessary, but also the engine bay; give it a bloody good clean, check for structural weakness, evidence of rust etc. With all this stuff not even getting a mention, would I buy a recon car off Mike Brewer? NOT A CHANCE IN THE PIT OF HADES! Get it done Right!!

Here is an equation that the guys who make the show a super sonic success . 14 years success -- Edd²+Mike=Wheeler Dealers, Edd²+Mike+Wheeler Dealers = Super Sonic Success, Edd²+Mike+SSS= More viewers , More Money. Or Ant , Edd and offcourse Mike as an extra can change the game . But trust me guys if WDs needs its foot print back then all the above formulas apply...now Mike shrug off whatever it is and admit the darn fact Edd is and was Wheeler Dealers face . Nothing personal here, but if the guys shaved of some ego and followed the formula ...we'd all be a big global happy wheeler dealers family.
Nice paint goes a long way. They never showed the spare tire well, but it should be rust free lol. Mine is mechanically perfect with a fresh rebuild using 10:1 pistons, but due to the Maaco paint with poor prep I don't think it would get over 7K if I wanted to sell...

for an incredibly simple car an alfa can cost a lot to maintain. if you can't fix most of it yourself, you are in trouble.
