    The guy at 7:04 was my coach two years back, I was 13 when I went to iten hoping to get better, he's a nice guy, gave me a plan for the first two days, then left me alone for the next three weeks, just didn't give me a training plan whatsoever. The season turned out to be bad, ran two races and got a stress fracture, but still, he was a nice guy.

    Did 10yrs of triathlon training+racing. I relate much to this lifestyle and immersion in another country successful community training. It’s like a yoga/boudhism retreat that u get urself into and live+experiment something different and yet interesting and motivating. Yes, its hard, its rudimentary comfort, its a lot of energy for risky outcome, and its something I would do again. 🥰😎

    Two rich, pretty boy posers from NZ come and appropriate a culture they clearly don't understand or try to amalgamate into. They go from humble one scene to looking like a pair of JV high schoolers pouting after a bad rep. Idk, I appreciate their commitment but at some point it's just way too ambitious

    • @EvanScully
      @EvanScully  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Bro!!!! You can’t say they are culturally appropriating running! If someone plays football, are we culturally appropriating England (since they invented it!) or Brazil because they are famous for it? I suppose you don’t eat Chinese food either because you know, that would be culturally appropriating.

    • @blainmasterson3053
      @blainmasterson3053 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EvanScully no, you can't appropriate a sport; running and soccer and cultural universals. These two openly admit to wanting to abide by the "Kenyan way". Kenyans don't chose this life, they are born into a poverty that more or less only allows them this life. This is no different than westerners paying to live in an authentic African village for a week. Literally, people pay money for an experience and that's all these two are doing. They stick out like a pair of sore thumbs.
